if I would mix some Gatorade or Powerade powder with water and drink that throughout the day, would that be as helpful in getting my daily water intake vs. drinking just water?
Sometimes I like drinking something other than water, even though I drink a ****load of it everyday.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Yes. But you'd also be getting a $#@%load of sugar you don't really need.

If you are having trouble drinking water try eating small portions of foods that make your throat dry. I've found that eating 1/4 a can of tuna makes me dry enough to happily drink 2-3 cups of water.

ya, good point.
I guess I might have mislead ya'll a little because I won't be using it as much as it may sound. I am a huge water fan and will still pound that throughout the day, however I was considering maybe 2-3 drinking bottles of the powder mixed up throughout an 8 hr day (at work).
Would 2-3 bottles add enough extra sugar to be concerned with?
Right now I am going to start cutting, so I really do not want to add anything that will go against my cut. Not to sure how much this would effect my cut.
Anyway, replies would be appreciated.
Thanks again

Each scoop of Gatorade/Powerade is about 30g of sugar. So yeah, one scoop alone is too much imo, never mind 2 or 3. Save the stuff for around workouts.
Drai is their any downside to taking creatine with grapefruit juice (fructose)? Or is it better to take with some dextrose? I don't have dextrose and I plan to take it with grapefruit juice, but I heard its signicantly worse to take without dextrose or maltodextrin.

2 things:
1) People recommend taking creatine with dextrose or maltodextrin because the insulin spike "shuttles" the creatine to the muscle, ie. you get the creatine where it needs to be. Think about this though. Once saturation levels have been reached (which should take only a few days if loading and a week or two without) you only need about 2g of creatine/day to maintain this level. Most of us who use creatine use 5g at a time, if not more. In other words, even if your method of creatine transport isn't optimal, you're still going to have enough reach the muscle to get the job done. I have my creatine in water and think it works just fine.
2) The whole acidity of grapefruit juice messes up the creatine thing is BS. Your stomach is a heckuva lot more acidic than a glass of grapefruit juice, so by the logic of the anti-grapefruit guys, creatine could never work.

I agree 100%.
What is the best juice though to mix it with...if you had to pick?

What Nito is referring to is a comment I made in science class, which was based off of Built's post which states fructose has larger effects on Liver Glycogen while dextrose has larger effects on Muscle Glycogen.

That comment (or Built's, whoever it was) is true. The relevance of it, however, to a discussion of creatine is not there.
Besides, Nito asked what "juice" is best to put creatine in. Most juices consist of fruit, so fructose is going to be the primary sugar in all of them.
To Nito, I'm telling you it doesn't matter.

I want to get the best out of my creatine use. So would you advise picking up some dextrose to go along with it?
