when box squatting you push your knees to the sides and sit back as far as possible....but do you try to spread the floor with your feet (trying rip the carpet) on the decent as well as on the ascent?....if this is confusing i am sorry...

I actually never did sit as far back as possible... I ended up pretty much at the edge of the box.
Yes. Push your feet out to the sides on the entire decent. When you sit, let your feet relax for an instant (this relaxes your hip flexors) then push your feet out again "spreading the carpet" and explode back up.

You might need to register for the site to watch it, but there are some great vids on there, it's worth it. Just use a little less weight than that guy lol :)

hey thanks guys....
cosmic- in the vid it looked as if the guy rocked off the bench....
and another question....is it good or bad to be able to ATF Squat more than you can box squat...i'm guessin it is probably good but just wanting to clarify that too
You should be able to squat more than you can box squat. Yes.
