For those who don't venture into the journals...

I am 4 weeks out of the NYC Natural. This will be my 1st show. I am in pretty good shape, but still have a layer of fat that I need to drop. Hopefully I can get more dialed in over this last month. I am 5' 10ish and currently 174-175. I will be competing between 165-170.

I appreciate any comments. I know my posing still needs a bit of work. I am putting the finishing touches on my routine tonight.

BTW: These are all unpumped. I am holding alot of water. I look tighter in the AM.

I think that if you keep your focus over the next month you could really come in looking well. Another 5-10 pounds of bofy fat off of your frame would get you looking extremely lean and right where you need to be for your comp.

Good work!

Are you shrugging your shoulders up in the lat spread? Maybe pull them down to get more lat flexion.

Looking good as usual.

I don't wanna piss in your cheerios, becuase you look FANTASTIC....but what happens if some dude comes in there at 170, but is 5'3? I had been wondering that before..

Back/Bis is spot on. Unusually so in the spinal erectors to fill your lower back up quite nicely, all the way up to some long full traps and good lats.

Quads looked great as well. I couldn't tell how could the lower legs looked size wise but they looked lean and vascular.

Chris: Thanks man. I'm hoping to drop about 2lbs per week, so that would be about 6-7 more lbs., hopefully mostly fat.

Popapump: I started my cut around 185. I haven't lost much (if any size) during the cut other than fat.

Nash: Lat spread is the pose I'm working on the most. I'm experimenting with a few different shoulder/hand positions. I hit one the other day that looked unreal, and I haven't been able to replicate it.

Dowd: That is always a concern when competing, especially at a lightweight. I will just hope I come in better conditioned. I hope to eventually compete as a middleweight/ligh heavy, so the height issue won't be much of a concern. I think next year I'll be able to compete around 185.

Ian: My back responded really well to heavy deads over the last year. My legs are lean, but need to get better seperation. I have one vein running up through the inner part of both thights. I have more on the outer thighs lurking, but haven't fully popped out. I also have some decent veins in my lower abs/hips that are covered by my boxers. My calves are normally veiny (both front and back) year round.

Beast and Gal: Thanks fellas.

Here are some update pics @ 3 weeks out, tanning makes a big difference. The last bit of fat is melting off my abs, quads and glutes have a lot of work left to do.

Nick: Thanks man.

Beast: The front dbl is improved, I think it's the shrinking of the waists and tightening abs.

Manveet: Thanks bro, hopefully more improvements to follow.

A couple tips for you. On your front double bi try lowering your arms, you'll want your triceps/under arm about parallel to the ground. You can also try a few different things with supinating your wrists in and out. Your bicep length is moderate, so you could try knuckles facing forward and see how that works and then knuckles facing in towards the sides of your head.

On your side chest the most important things to concentrate on are A.) driving your bicep into your pec to "lift" it up. B.) driving your non-facing leg/knee into your hamstring facing the judges. You really want to squish and flatten it out to look as large as possible. Also to do this correctly, keep in mind you won't want to much oil on your inner thighs/hams because you want that ham to "stick" to your knee/opposing leg. Finally C.) Make sure your facing arm is pulled as tight as possible against your body, giving the same flattening effect to your bicep as you're striving for with your hamstring. This illusion can make your arm appear far larger than it is.

The same things apply to the side tricep as well. Also keep your stomach sucked in as far as possible while also flexing it hard.

One last tip would be to rotate your torso in both side tricep and side chest. Make it so you almost feel as if you're sticking your ass out at the judges and then struggling to rotate your torso back around to face perfectly at them, this will bring out everything in your upper body as well as stretch/tighten your hams and glutes. This change is what made striations pop out my glutes and really make them look great.

Rasta: Thanks man.

Vas Def: July 23rd, somehigh HS on the Williamsburg/Bed Sty border.

Chase: Thanks for the pointers. I read all the tips you received from that judge on promuscle. I'll work on them this week and incorporate them in next week's pics.

Looking fantastic, Connor. I really like the tricep and rear double bicep poses. They really show off your size and effort you've put into this. Great work.
