I know traditional deadlifts are a great compound movement but for just back development wouldn't you guys agree that stiff legged deadlifts are better?
better back developement or overall development?

I mean I think stiff legged deadlifts would be better than traditional deadlifts solely for developing the back muscles. Not overall development. Why don't you guys agree?

Try Good Mornings. You'll see what's superior for lower back development. Be careful to have an ambulance close by, too.

SLD put more stain on the hamstrings then the back. Another reason why Deaflifts are better ....... How much weight do you use when you deadlift ??? and how much weight do you use when you SLD ??? There you go ....

DarcyTucker,
Both Squats and Deadlifts should give you more lower back exercise than you know what to do with.
Even if SLDL isolated the lower back more, you only want to isolate a muscle if you feel that a compound movement regimen is not recruiting it enough.
I personally cannot do Squats and Deadlifts in the same week because of my lower back. Everyone is different though.
Hope this helps.
