So you should try to eat 1 to 2 g of protein for every lb. I understand this, but does anyone find this hard to do? For example: I have a protein shake in the morning for breakfast. This is 40g of protein. For lunch, if I eat a skinless chicken breast and milk and maybe some other things, that's about 40-50g of protein. So I'm up to 80-90g of protein. I weigh about 165. That means for dinner, I'd have to consume about 75-85 more grams of protein just to get to 1g per 1lb. Anyone have this problem besides me?

Eat more meals, 165g of protein is not hard at all. Have some nuts, low fat cheese, beans etc.

I think I'll start eating snacks with cheese and nuts, since I love them both. I've been working out for about 2+ years but I'm just getting started on taking my diet seriously and eating more protein. I do put 2 scoops in my shakes. I can't hardly drink them though unless I have orange juice, everything else is nasty :) Thanks for the input guys.

Just eat PB straight from the jar.

Quite a few calories
Quite a bit of protein
Minimal carbs
Alot of fat (in mine anyway)

I have to drink 5 portein shakes a day to get my 160 grams. Its costing me a bomb.

5 shakes? Dont you eat whole foods?

I do but mainly only when my Mum cooks in the evening. Besides that I eat whatever I can find in the house, most of which doesnt yield enough protein.
Hence the 5 shakes.

are you only putting one scoop per shake?

 ........Nope

The container says 2 scoops (25g) with 300ml of water. This equates to 19.5 grams of protein.....Not alot I know.

As for the grocery list my Mum would just throw it away.

''Who are you to tell me what to buy with my money''

I rest my case.

Would the "1 to 2 g of protein for every lb." protein rule apply to those whom are overweight (i.e. me?) Or should we base that on our ideal weight?

LBM or ideal weight. If your 300lbs and 33% BF, then shoot for 200grams.

Just might have to do that actually. Is 'ON' optimum nutrition?

That's extremely expensive. You should check on ebay. Check this out (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5597426387&category=40963&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1)

The cost with shipping is $29.74, that's about 77 cents a shake with 2 scoops, not including the milk (or whatever you use)

I don't find it hard to get my protein. I am around 170lbs. and I get at least 477grams of protein daily and I only do one protein shake a day. I do eat about 7 meals a day.

Holy ****. How's that working out for you. How many calories a day is that? Are you a body builder, or just regular workouts...

477grams of protein daily and I get around 4700 calories a day. No, I am not a bb. I am trying to do a clean strict bulk and so far I am gaining about 2lbs weekly and the bf% is staying around the same. In my final pics, I was at 9% and now I range between 10-10.5%.
