gidday folks,

alright the formula of ZMB that im currently using has the following amount of zinc, magnesium, b6 per tablet

Zinc - 30.7
B6 - 25 mg
Magnesium - 80 mg

however this source (http://www.musclephotos.com/zma.html) says the best dosage is;

30 mg of ZN
450 mg of Mg
10.5 mg of vitamin B-6

if i increase the amount of pills i take per night, making the Magnesium 480mg(closest amount), then there is 184.2 mg of zinc and 150 mg of B6

would this cause any problems?

cheers,

I'd do :-

30mg Zinc
250MG Magnesium
100MG B6

Twice a Day.

If you can only get close to those MG then get as close as possible.

how much zinc, mag and B6 do you eat in your diet?

The best supp will cover the inadequicies of your diet.

the 450mg of magnesuim, is the most likely to cover any defiencies you have so go for that one. Or go for the cheapest of the two.

Whats the difference between taking ZMB and ZMA. And is it okay for a chick to take either?

they are basically the same thing.

and no..it's not harmful for a woman...zinc and magnesium are trace minerals and B6 is a vitamin.

Recommended doses are different for men and women, though. Here's from the label on my bottle:

Men (3 tabs)
zinc 30mg
mag 450mg
B6 11mg

Women (2 tabs)
zinc 23mg
mag 338mg
B6 8mg

super - if you eating enough zinc etc then its not going to increase your test levels. if your worried about the test increasing DHt and therefore ance. Zinc is often use to treat acne as well.

okay....why is this? and/or is this actually weight dependent? (which i would think it would be)

LMAO

The increase in testosterone will be marginal, if any. You certainly don't need to worry about virilizing effects.

I personally don't even think it works.

Tryska, I've never seen any explanation for this. It might be marketing so that women don't worry about growing a beard.

Superwoman, I can't tell you how much, if any, it will raise test levels in women. I can't even tell you if it will result in increased muscle mass or strength in women. The one study I've seen looked at male athletes (football players, I think).

PowerMan, sure it works. GNC got my money, didn't they? ;)

Increasing your natural test levels is actually beneficial for females.

The only thing you'll see is a strength improvement, a noticable increase in muscle size/definition, and an increased sex drive.

I could see how the latter would be a problem for most women.

Even if you took the men's dose it isn't going to raise your test levels too much. The women-freaks you see at the higher levels of bodybuilding are taking anabolic steroids to look the way they do. ZMA might enhance your performance. You'll sleep better at night, at least at first. If you're zinc-deficient, you might notice an improvement in your skin and hair texture. Very very doubtful it will have any virilizing side effects.

Good point about the sex drive, PowerMan. Estratest is a hormone-replacement pill for women. It's got estrogen for the usual reasons and testosterone to counteract the decrease in libido some women get from taking estrogen. The women I've seen on Estratest don't virilize. I can't quote any studies to this effect, but I would think it would be extremely unlikely that a woman would get as much of a test boost from ZMA as she would get from Estratest.

that amount of zinc ain't gonna do jack squat to a female. (in a bad way)

magnesium, is irrlevant, b6 is irrelevant.

actually i don't even understand what ZMAs hook is to be honest.
