What percentage of your protein do you get from whole foods, and what percentage do you get from drinks/supplements? I find that I'm getting more than half of mine from my whey protein shakes. Is this unusual? Is it bad? Thanks.

you don't take post workout shakes while cutting built? I eat about 250grams of protein and only 1 scoop which is about 20grams maybe a bit more...you do the math ^^

20g of whey protein is still 80 calories that I'd rather chew.

I do a post workout protein waffle. I eat a carb and protein meal an hour or so before I train, and have the slow carbs again right after.

I may do this differently some other time, but for now, this is working.

my body can't tell the difference between protien it got from a rare sirlion steak to a protein shake. Its all the same by the time i have swallowed. So i would not worry about it.
as long as you get enough of the macro&micro-nutritents your be fine.

my diet is based on A) conivience B) what free ood i got at work. eg sometimes I can get 3 pound of free cooked chicken, bacon, beef. so having a protein shake on top that is not really needed. C) fruit protein smoothie taste nice, so sometimes these are nicer than food.

But basically to me protien powder is food. Its more nutritish than many foods.

I try to hit 200+ grams and whenever I fall short I have shakes. I ussualy know If I will fall short since I plan my meals ahead of time.
