I'm having a problem on Fitday with the calculations of grams of carbs/calories. There are 4 calories/g of carbs, right? On Fitday, it's not making that conversion. For instance, it says 62g carb = 230 cal, when it should be 248, which is subsequently screwing up my macronutrient ratios. Is anyone else having this problem? It's been like this for several weeks now. I e-mailed them about it, but never heard anything.

i dont use fitday, but i'm sure it's because of one of the following:
1) rounding
2) fibre
3) dont worry about 18 cals man.

my guess is that your "4 calories/gram of carb" is just a quick conversion
the actual very well may be 3.650793650794 calories/gram of carb...according to their numbers

Yeah, it's possible to over-obsess about FitDay. BTW, you know you're taking FitDay too serious is you enter sexual activity as one of your Activities for the day.

fitday rounds its numbers, which is why i customize everything that i eat..since i eat the same products with some variations.

fitday calculates based on "net" carbs, so fiber is not counted. you can work around it if you do custom entries and omit putting in numbers for fiber.

its true though, some fiber is insoluble.
