Well today at work on my break I was walking around Pathmark(where I work) sipping on my shake and I past by a sign that said Salmon 10 for 10$ and im like hmm and went to take a look. Its these individually packaged salmon steaks and each one has something lik5g of fat 1 came from saturated and 30g of protein I dont remeber the cals on it but they should be something in the 100-150cal range. Do you think this is a good bargin or is frozen salmon not that good?

^How about if I just got back from a fishing trip up north and caught salmon. Is there any way to interpret the nutrition facts from that?

Just weight it i guess. 6oz of salmon is 6oz of salmon go to www.calorieking.com and put in the weight and it will give it to you.

Yes, at least to approximate.

Get a food scale if you don't have one already.

Prepare the salmon to the point of being ready for cooking. Weigh each piece that you are going to use, then go to http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ and look up the values.

The frozen salmon that you saw frozen was more than likely farm raised, which would have a slightly different calorie content than salmon that is caught in the wild. Either way they are both great sources of protein and EFAs.

Trader Joes has frozen salmon that is wild...5 patties for 4.95...cant beat that.

same reason you would eat the skin of say a chicken, cuz it taste good.

I ate it its really thin. Plus the reason I eat Salmon is for the Omega 3 and stuff and if salmon is like chicken and alot of the fat is in the skin then I would want to eat the skin hehe.
