View Full Version : Should I cut or bulk?

Ive been lifting for awhile now but im not sure if i should cut or bulk. Right now i think im at about 20% b/f and i weigh 163 with about 130 of that being muscle. So I need some advice to decide weither to cut or bulk so i know what type of diet i should follow and the amount of cardio i should do. (note i kinda favor my right side)

i would say clean bulk!

thanks, now as far as cardio when bulking should i limit it to no more than 30 mins a day 4 days a week or so? And when u say clean bulk do you mean bulk with a clean diet like nothing but healthy foods (high in protein etc.) ?

I agree with GF.
You don't need to cut but you also don't want to add any BF at this point.
Clean bulk all the way.
It aint easy, but its worth it.

thanks for the advice, ill post some more pics of my bulk process (which I will start tomorrow) in about 3 - 4 weeks. Another question I have is, would it be ok to continue doing cardio during a bulk? I think limiting it to 30 mins would be ok? That would also allow me to eat a little more fats etc since I would burn some of it off (I think) . And as far as bulking goes with my workout routines would it be best to start lifting heavier with say 5 reps 3 sets ? something to that extent?

Hm, well I always suggest lifting pretty heavy to produce as much muscle growth as possible. And about your cardio question, most people choose to do cardio no more than twice a week at max. But if you eat more to compensate for your cardio, you should be fine.

Eat clean, lift heavy, eat clean some more..... clean bulk

Got some update pics. Been on a clean bulk for a month now. Hopefully their are some results. My lifts have gone up so i know something is working. Bodyfat is at 16-17%, weighing in at 175-185 (havn't had the chance to weigh in the morning with a good scale). btw.. sry about all the acne but im sure most of yall know the effects of puberty...lol
