nice lift, i've never seen squats done like that... (off the bars) would the bars be giving you any momentum up? i know thats a ton of weight but is it considered a true squat?

07-21-2005, 05:49 PM
d good job I knew you had it in you. Your the strongest Mofo around.
P.S. Put collars on the bar next time!

07-21-2005, 06:04 PM
yah man i was worried the weight was gonna fall right off the bar lol. Good power man but i dont know about the whole slamming on the bar thing you have to control the weight for it to be a rep. Also you dont get parallel but that takes some power none the less, good job.

mang i thought the plates were falling off for a moment.

you guys need an updated divx driver sounds like...

and i dont claim to be an expert or anything, but that was some dangerous stuff right there. first off you didnt use collars. even if there werent any, thats not an excuse, just dont squat. secondly, when i was watching you unrack the bar and set up, i thought your knees were going to snap. you dont seem stable enough under all that weight, maybe you have a weak core or something. lastly, you went way too fast and only halfway to parallel. that will do nothing to get you stronger, that form will only cause you injury. you need to do slower, more controlled reps.

good job though man

Deff not to parallel, and the balance was sick. Look at kevs squat vids that were just posted in his journal... those would be counted as real reps. You couldve hurt yourself and at best you almost dropped weights off the right side. You need to go about 3-5 inches further down, slow the rep down and you cant bounce the weight of the saftey bars in the power rack. Nothing should ever physically rest on anything other then your own strength. Still we can see the power there, I would suggest trying a rep maybe 50lbs lighter then that working on the overall form. Still damn strong either way.

Ummmmm...........I think you better watch some powerlifting video's.
I usually won't say this but THAT is dangerous.

That was ugly - half squat, half bounce

07-21-2005, 11:00 PM
im pretty sure this is a joke

07-21-2005, 11:46 PM
im pretty sure this is a joke

I sure HOPE it's a joke! Quarter squats, bouncing off the pins, stepping forward out of the j-hooks, and no collars... un-freaking-believable...

Where on earth did you find that video? Tell me because I want to see more!!!

07-22-2005, 12:50 AM
i can hear it but not see it..........

ditto: quicktime: all black. widows media: didn't play at all. I have the updated quicktime on my Mac.

hehe ok guys... if you couldnt tell, that really isnt me (my lifts are in my sig). i found this video on fortifiediron.net, but they found it on elitefts.com. looks like its a college weight room... you'd think college kids would have a little more common sense... sad.

07-22-2005, 02:31 PM
uhhh ok

07-22-2005, 02:43 PM
I was praying that wasn't really you debussy. That dude is probably already dead or seriously messed up by now.

07-22-2005, 03:00 PM
What are collars?

I can squat 500 for 2 like that as well, lol.

07-22-2005, 04:04 PM
It would been funny if he had broken the safety bars and it just collapsed on him.

07-22-2005, 07:14 PM
I knew it was not debussy and put a little sarcasm on it. The really sad thing about it was that there where 1 or 2 others cheering this guy on. A little more and you have a blown knee and thats getting off easy.

07-22-2005, 09:15 PM
good: this thread is a joke

bad: i dont think the guy in the actual video was joking though :(

Yeah Bro I Debussy I almost lost respect for you if that WAS you...damn that kid needs to be shot

07-23-2005, 10:23 PM
seen this on offtopic.com, i guess this video is spreading around the net so people can laugh at you/this man.

07-24-2005, 10:03 AM
Hey- Is this that same schmuck who posted the 400+ pound "deadlift" on whatever site- where he almost kills himself and then nods his head like "yeah, I'm a badass." Then he defended his form all up and down the forum he posted on... if it's the same guy then he's the worst lifter ever.

07-24-2005, 11:06 AM
the guy you are talking about is diesel weasel over at bb.com

07-24-2005, 11:58 AM
dw is a piece of work. lol actually he has some strength for his size, but by argueing with everyone he makes it worse.

07-24-2005, 12:59 PM
Please post some links! I'd love to see more!

07-24-2005, 02:32 PM
Go to t nation thats where he posts. I'm pretty sure thats not him in the video though. His lifts that I have seen are not that bad though.

07-24-2005, 09:48 PM
Yeah. That's not the deez weez, but close.

07-25-2005, 08:30 AM
I liked the video of dw when he was tearing the phone book with that ****ty metal music in the background.. funny ****

07-25-2005, 09:12 AM
I like the rounded back 400+ deadlifts

07-25-2005, 09:23 AM
his 405x4 dead wasnt thaaaaat bad. you really can't tell for sure how rounded his back was from the perspective of the video. he hitched every rep after the first one though. the problem was that he kept on arguing saying his form was good, etc, when it clearly wasn't. he should have just kept his mouth shut and taken the advice, but to each their own.

07-25-2005, 09:59 AM
Wow. That squat vid gave me a good laugh. Is this kid still alive? I seriously thoiught he was going to break the safety pins and the weight would pull him down and crash onto his skull. :p
