What percentage of your calories should I be getting from fat?

Does this percentage shift if your bulking, maintaining, cutting?

between 20% - 30% depending on what works for you and what you prefer mines usually 20% but i know some people like to keep theirs at 30%

Don't go by a percentage - it's meaningless. I aim for a minimum of 0.5g/lb LBM (or goal weight).

Use fat as a caloric ballast - if you're bulking, you can add more calories, no problem if they come from fat.

Hill... thanks. I've been shooting for 25%, so I guess I'm pretty close.

Built... just to clarify, a half of gram of fat per pound of desired body weight? If I'm bulking, how do I know what my desired weight is? I'm 183 now, and I'm not quite sure how much weight (from muscle) I can put on. Obviously, being 210 of solid muscle would be nice. But at 6', at 36 years of age, not sure how realistic that is. Should I just shoot for 91g of fat, which would be for my current weight, or shoot higher? Thanks.

i go for totals as well and not %.

And it's a minimum, not a maximum.I never even considered that there was a minimum amount of fat to be eaten. Is there a number you should use for maximum, or should you simply use the scale and the mirror? Thanks again.

use the mirror and you jeans if they get to tight you know your putting some weight on round the waist but if yoiur getting bigger up top then id be happy till you cant stand anymore fat then cut.

If you go by nutritional guides it's less than 30% from fat... and less than 11% from saturated fats.

Of course, the same guide (government) also recommends 10% daily calories from protein and 60% from carbs. We all know what bodybuilders think of that. :)

The maximum would be whatever your caloric limit is for the day, given your proteins and carbs have been accounted for.
