Instead of taking the time to bring out the pan, stir the eggs, do all this stuff, cant I just mix up the eggs and mix them with a glass of milk or something, ? anything wrong with that ?

Try a search next time and you'll often find a great deal of discussion on common subjects. It's alot quicker than waiting for replies on a new thread.

Raw eggs = Salmonella

No need to eat/drink raw eggs. It's bad for you.

There are plenty of pasteurized egg products that you can buy that won't kill you and you can also buy powdered egg products to mix with drinks or anything you'd like.

Raw eggs = Salmonella

The rate of illness from salmonella is so ridciculously low that it's barely worth mentioning. Even so, death from salmonella would require a severely weakened immune system.

The rate of illness from salmonella is so ridciculously low that it's barely worth mentioning. But there's still a small chance. ;) I just think it's better to stay on the safe side, IMO. I can't see how it's not worth mentioning, though.

The bigger deal with raw eggs (the whites, actually) is biotin absorption. The occasional raw egg likely won't hurt you. But it's not the best way to consume large quantities of egg white on a regular basis. http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C244364.html

Leave it to Built to come in and make us all feel dumb. ;)

I learnted sumpin new!

From what I gather, eating raw eggs would be ok so long as you consume the occasional yolk to compensate for the biotin deficiency, right?

Don't feel dumb 'cause you learned something!

Feel smrt, like me!

I actually think the biotin thing with raw egg whites is over-blown. But raw egg whites are freaking NASTY! Bleah!

I agree. Makes me wanna heave up an entire organ or something. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/edoom/throwup.gif

Pasteurized egg whites are fine. They are virtually cooked already, so the biotin issue is overcome making the protein more bioavailable. The egg whites that I buy don't have any taste, really. I mix it up with some choco protein powder and can't even tell it's in there.

I drink mine out of the carton. Tastes like nothing.

I make my ultimate protein shake with raw eggs every night before bedtime.

1 glass of milk
1 whole egg
1 fist full almonds
1 banana
1.5 table spoon of honey

try it, you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!

When you cook eggs, it increases the bioavailability.

Isnt an eggs protein the best quality of protein out there?

Yes, it's referred to as the "perfect protein".
