View Full Version : Has Anyone Seen Gains Attributable to Switching Supps?
Specifically: has anyone ever seen size or strength gains that they attributed to switching (not starting) supplements? The general consensus is that whey is whey, creatine is creatine, and etc. I'm wondering if anyone sees any reason to disagree with this. I've gone through 4.5 containers of ON whey in 3.5 months, and I'm getting my fifth container today. Is there any reason whatsoever to expect a change to "do me good", or is that just unreasonable?
Thanks.

Switching from GNC 100% whey to Nitrean I saw a difference in gains. Small, but there was definitly a difference. I don't really know if this is considered switching, but I have tried various creatine supps in the past and the only one that gave me the gains I wanted was BN CEE, only complaint I have with it is that it tastes like ****.
I'm basically considering switching to Nitrean, at least for one order. I just wish I could get a sample or that it was available in small quantities in stores so I could try it first. I'll see where I am in a month or so.

Ask Chris, he's usually good about sending out small samples for people. But as far as switching from one brand of the same product to another brand, there shouldn't be any difference (assuming that both products actually contain what they are supposed to contain).

man, I think its all about the same when u get down to it give or a take a little....
IMO, a little given or taken away can sometimes make a big difference. Sometimes all you need is to see a little results to keep you going, or see gains taken away to take you out of it.

I think you'll see a difference switching to a more balanced protein - actually you moreso than others, given that you're so lean to start with. The problem with straight whey protein, is that it metabolizes so quickly. Someone with an elevated metabolism has a propensity to turn everything into fuel, including faster absorbing proteins, which isn't good if you need that protein to rebuild with. Keeping the mix in your gut longer with a slower digesting matrix helps to decrease the odds that you'll drop out of positive nitrogen balance as a result of your higher metabolic rate. You just don't flash absorb it then burn it up - it gives you time to replenish your glycogen stores with other things - like dex, or a potato, or something :D.

Ok Seriously I switched from using regular Creatine Mono powder to Creatine Ethel Ester pill. In an post workout formula called "Stalones Post Workout Reloaded" and I gained a lot of muscle quick and didn't get the bloated feeling I always got from the powder. So so far it is working out great, I can feel the stuff working, it gives a pump preworkout and after it relaxes my sore muscles. I recommend switching or at least thinking about it, I have heard that for some people the powder doesn't work as well as the Ethel Ester or CEE.
