I want to buy jerky but it's so expensive the cheapest place I see it is walmart 8oz for under 6 dollars.

you can buy a food drier at walmart that makes excellent beef jerky!!
with real steak! I have made many pounds of it and the savings have more than paid for the cost of the drier

Yea but doesn't the meat you use cost just as much? Not to mention the fact it shrinks. Hmmm. My parents got a bunch of venison i wonder if i can make jerky out of that, without the jerky maker?

Sounds like a good recipe for food poisoning to me...

Ive used venison, it comes out really good. Just make sure you marinate it well before.

No, I used top round from costco at 4 usd/lb and most commercial jerkys cost up to 40 usd/lb
I also made jerky out of venison hams. It was very good!

search google, you can find many recipes, methods, and even how to just make it in your oven!

sometimes big manufacturers have odds and ends for sale cheap on their websites also look for small vendors or go to some big outdoor swap meets... Or just buy and make your own.

go buy a dehydrator and get like some beef steaks and chop them up...or you could probably find a good deal at Sams wholesale

making jerky can be tricky....surf the net for ideas......good luck....

You can make jerky in your oven, it just takes a really long time.
