I just wanted to say that last days at a job feel ****ing great! :D

Although, I've done a few work related things since I've slacked for the past 3 weeks, I'm pretty much just wandering about and it's always a good feeling to start fresh again.

Had breakfast with my team, and going to lunch with the rest of my friends, and then some drinks after work. I've had a few pints with each lunch this week as well, so afternoons are always a struggle to make it through.

Although, bit of a dumbass for not scheduling time in between jobs, but I"m not a big vacation person anyway, and rather not go a week without pay and just sit around bored.

Good on you man :)

Now getting laid and relaxing are now nr. 1

you notice when you dont work, you often miss more workouts and meals, then when you work and have a full day.

My last day at a call center was a blast. I vowed to never return to a call center so I just didn't give a crap. As soon as someone got rude I'd just let them have it.

My favorite, and had everyone around me look at me caught between horror and laughter, was when one guy was screaming his head off (a tornado had blacked out the entire grid) about our crappy service. I just sort of let him rant for a minute and then said "Wow, that sounds like too serious a problem for an 'idiot tech support' like me. Allow me to transfer you to my supervisor, Mr Dialtone. *click*".

I hear that some people have jobs they're sorry to leave. Wonder how that feels...

I'm not sure you'll do well. AS a matter of fact I am convinced you will crawl into a bottle like some kind of Alcoholic Genie living off the Canadian Government like a mutant leech.
But then again I guess at your age you deserve retirement.

i always schedule 2 weeks off between gigs. I like having that time to relax and refresh.

but yeah - last days are very cool.

I have 3 more days before I'm done with a job I've been at for 7 1/2 years. The past 2 weeks I've worked just as hard as I've always done, maybe a little harder.

We have had a bunch of co-workers quite in the last couple of months. Someone my group relies on heavily is starting her last week. She is totally slacking, and we are hearing it from some of our institutional customers. I am sure I would be the same way, but still is making live tougher on us. I also now have to take on some of her old responsibilities, which totally sucks.

I have aobut, 4 days of work left as well (summer job) The job was pretty bad, mainly because of people i worked with. It was pretty physical as well, but i'm looking forward to leaving :) But i've hurd that last day you basically dont leave the warehouse dry, you get sprayed with water the day you come in at work. I sure as hell not looking foreward for that.

yeah! thats what they did to a temp. last year. But they got him wet, put him in a freeze for 10 minutes, shrink wrapped him than put him up on the top racks. I sure as hell looking to my last day at work...not really.

Easy solution, call in sick your last day.

Both are bad ideas. Always good to leave a company on a good note. You never know what the future may hold. You may need a reference. You may need to return for a job. It's even a small enough world that your boss might even show up at your future company down the line. Never burn bridges, very bad move.

agreed. business 101.

For me, I work as a software intern at Sun Microsystems. Pretty tough job, but i'm done in 3 weeks to get back to school. Thank the Lord, can't wait for it to end.
