At the moment I am taking one of these basic multivitamin tablets that has 100% RDA of each vitamin.
Would it be better to get one of the ones with higher amounts and extra stuff like minerals.
If so, are there any you recommend?

body's right..stay away from the iron.

I heard about that, but don't you have to take a pretty large amount for a long long time before it does any damage?
So would that small amount in those capsules I mentioned still be bad?
Can someone suggest a good multivitamin and minerals product?

I haven't heard this - why do you need to stay away from the iron exactly?

Heres something about it:

It seems its only a problem if you have some other disease already.

your body hoards iron. it was designed to do that because for most of millennia it had to deal with blood sucking parasites so iron toxicity wasn't that much of a problem.
the only way to lower the amount of iron in your blood is by bleeding. what you can do is give blood once a month, as it will help others, and lower the amount of iron you have in your blood.

So your saying if someone doesn't give blood or cut themselves badly once a month they will get ill?

Hold on, if the body hoards Iron so much, why do so many people get anemia?

not a whole lot are "really" anemic. and of those people who are anemic, most of them are women. who experience overly heavy blood loss during their menstrual cycles.
the other anemics would be men with bleeding ulcers, or colon cancer. matter of fact, if a man pops up anemic, he should be checked for colon cancer.

People who take iron supps, and eat lots of meat especially offal do not suffer aneamia. teenage girls who are vegetarians and dieting do get aneamia.
this last group does not eat enough iron to have a surpluss.
males need less iron than females do, this is the only nutritient off the top of my head which is the case.

Alright, so can someone recommend a good multivitamin tablet that doesn't contain iron?
