View Full Version : natural peanut butter expiration?

going to college tuesday and i want to bring some natural peanut butter i just bought from trader joes but there is no expiration date on the jar. will i be able to stock up on a few? or will i have to buy some when i am back home?

Peaanut butter never expires as far as I have heard. Gotta love the Discovery channel and food network.

well it must be kept refridgerated...but a jar should keep for 2 months after being opened before I would consider it a bad idea to keep eating it.

alright cause i wasnt sure since most peanut butters have hydrogenated oils which increase shelf life and since natural pb doesnt have any, i thought maybe there is a drastic change in how long it can be kept. maybe the only difference is one you can keep in a pantry while the other has to be kept in a fridge.
