Hi there. I know it's important to consume simple carbs immediately after your work out but I'm unsure whether am I using the right stuff. After my work out, I consume about 3 scoops of Glucolin Glucose (you know, the rather small blue bottle thingy) along with my Whey and Creatine.

Is Glucolin Glucose the right kinda simple carb to consume for PWO? Cuz I read the ingredients and it is made of Dextrose, while indluding other goodies like calcium and vitamins. So that's the one right? Just wanna be sure thanks~

Dextrose is a good PWO choice

i think glucose is as good as you can get for pwo, at least if your trying to spike your insulin.

dextrose and maltodextrin are the two most common...but glucose should spike insulin well and convert to glycogen pretty easily too.
But I wasn't a chemistry major :)

Clearly. Dextrose and (natural) glucose are one in the same. Another name for dextrose is D-glucose.

dextrose is dextrorotatoryglucose.

The "dexter" meaning "right" in Latin, of course.

Why would you want to supplement glucogen?

If it is glucose/dextrose, then what do you think? =)

Thanks for the replies guys. At a BW of 180lbs I am consuming about 72 grams of glucose for my PWO. Is that too much or little? Cuz it's really sweet and I'm kinda concern about it.

What I've always read/heard, and thus recommended, is that PWO carbs should be double the amount as your PWO protein. So aim for a 2:1 carbs to protein ratio, add a tsp of creatine, and there's a perfect PWO shake.
