View Full Version : Is marinating your chicken BAD?

Hey, I 'm cutting and I have been eating one and half chicken breasts once or twice a day for some of my meals. But I have also been cutting the chicken into strips and then placing then in a plastic baggy and letting it sit in teryaki marinade over night. Is this a big deal? Will this effect my diet a lot? Or is marinating it ok?

Probably a bit high in sodium, which will make you retain water.
Other than looking bloated, you should be fine.

Depends on whats in the marinade. Could be loaded with sugar like alot of them are.

Yeah, if you marinate in, say, butter(!), you may have a problem. Just think about what's in the marinade; that stuff will make it into the meat. Teryaki is a bit high in sodium, but it shouldn't cause a problem unless you are really restricting your sodium intake.
