== Feels good to gain on these, especially when you're gaining weight. I was actually most pleased with the last set, where I usually struggle with getting 4-6 @ BW. Not a PR by the way I mark it but a gain in strength for sure.

BB Rows: 9x145 (+3R), 7x155 (+10W +1R), 6x155 (+10W)
== Good!

Seated Cable Rows: 10x140 (+5W), 10x140 (+5W), 10x140 (+5W)
== Got my 10 reps for 3 sets with 140, good. Last set was very hard, so 145 next week will be quite the challenge.

Seated DB Curls: 5:6x40s, 6x35s, 6x35s
== These were terrible.

BB Preacher Curls: 8x55, 8x55
== These as well were terrible.

I've switched legs from Tuesday to Wednesday. 2 reasons. 1) My lower back is somewhat sore from the BB rows and Cable Rows which on Monday. 2) Half the time I bet I'll end up doing deads on Sunday rather than Saturday, so I'll need to move my upperback workout from Monday to Tuesday, thus legs from Tuesday to Wednesday. I did legs last week on wednesday anyways so it's fine.

debussy: Not in a plateau on squats right now actually. I'll probably go light for 1 week (4-5 sets of 75% or so for 5-7 reps) and then go heavy for 1 week (1 set, shooting for a 5RM). We'll see how that works.

Legs

Squats: 95, 135, 185, 225, 6x265 (+10W +1R)
== My routine will have me doing 5x5 with around 75% intensity one week, then going for a 5RM the next. This should help me not burn out as fast. This was awesome, though my form could use a tad bit of work since the last couple of reps had too much good-morning in them.

Box Squats: 9x225, 6x225, 6x225
== Holy **** do these ever do a number on your hips. The box was too high (it was actually a bench). I'd hesitate to say these were even parallel. Need to find something lower for next time. Form obviously needs some work as this is the first time doing these. I got the basics of the movement down though, since it was super hard the first few inches off the box and then it just flies up after that. This also goes to show that my parallel squat is likely near 300 for reps.

SLDL: 8x225, 8x245, 5x265
= Another exercise where my form needs work. I'm definitely getting better at them though; I can actually feel it in my hammies now and it felt pretty damn good. Also happy about the weight, though I can't call it a PR since I never wen't heavy on these. Jeff, let's hit up a session next week on legs so you can help me with these.

Lying Leg Curls: 10x110, 8x120 (+10W), 6x120
== Finally moving up on these. I've done 120 for 8 before but with ****tier form. Since I moved to better form I've been stuck at 110 for 8 reps on the 2nd set.

Leg Press: 20x3pps, 20x4pps, 20x4pps
== Gonna keep with this. The 20 reppers are killers and will add to my hypertrophy effort, since squats and SLDL will be with lower reps. I like it at the end of the workout since I can get the same effect with less weight.

Smith Calf Raises: 12x2pps+35 (+3R), 9x2pps+35, 7x2pps+35, 8x2pps+35
= I love this one.

== This went quite well. I've gotta cut down on the heavy presses to 3 sets again, as the 4th set was just terrible. The problem wasn't even chest strength, but rather not being able to stabilize the weight well enough.

Incline BB Press: 6x145, 7x135 (+2R), 8x125, 6x125
== This went quite well too, with the exception again of the 4th set. Not sure what to mark down the 145 as it isn't a flawless +10W (lost a couple reps), but the 2nd set is +2R from last week fo' sho'. Again, this will become 3 sets next week and then I'll be tossing in DB Flies once again.

Dips @ 195lbs: 9xBW, 6xBW, 5xBW
== Better then last week, still sucky.

Overhead DB Extentions: 10x55 (+3R), 6x60 (+5W)
== Eh... Feelin this more in my right tri for some reason. I'm gonna have to drop it for something else unfortunately :(.

== Phew. Today was supposed to be far less intensity, less weight, more reps, more sets. But the gym was closing early so I figured I'd just do 1 heavy one. This is 10lbs short of my PR and there is no way in hell I would have gotten 375. Weaker? Possibly, but I think I could credit it to my hips still being somewhat tolled from the box squats on wednesday. I think the weights at my gym are heavier than at Petes as well. We'll see next week :).

DB Shoulder Press: 10x50s (+4R), 6x55s (+5Ws), 4x55s (+5Ws)
== Mmm, happy with this.

Arnold Presses SS Lateral Raises: 8x35s 10x15s, 8x35s 10x15s
== Gonna keep in this superset from now on for the side delts. This felt good, first time doing Arnies. Will move up next week.

Smith Shrugs SS Rear Delt Machine: 12x2pps 12x90, 9x2pps+10 (+1R) 8x105, 8x2pps+10 9x105

As for the deads, it's amazing how I find different gyms affect my 1 rep max. It my just be the day, the conditioning, diet before hand, but I swear the weights are different at each gym. lol I found them heavier at Pete's gym not lighter. :(

Its all mental, weight is weight but your telling yourself your not used to these weights, asking yourself if you can do the same weight with these weights? And thats screwing you up.

Nice benching and deads.

About the dips, I really think you have a lot more in you but since you're doing them after 2 benching exercises, you get a bit tired out. When I tried Dips fresh right after a benching warmup one day, I hit 14 (almost got 15) reps. But when I did BB Bench, then DB Bench, then DB Flies, and Dips at the end of the workout, I couldn't even get 4 reps.

I'll bet if you had taken it easier and then tried to go for max again NEXT week you'd have pulled solid 385.

Nice leg session. I find I "feel" SLDL more when I put all of my weight on my heels, almost as if my toes are not touching the floor (although I'm sure they are).

anthony has a good point... keep all your weight on your heels. it will give you hamstrings a better stretch.Yo. Put your toes on some plates and THEN do it. You'll definitely feel more of a stretch and it will hit your hammy's HARD. Trust me. Try it.

== This went well too. They were SS with lateral raises, but some prick hid the 15s so I had to use 20s. Form was quite awful after about 5 or 6 :D.

== 1 superset.

Rear-Delt Machine: 1 set of 12, 1 set of 7
== Forget the weight.

I saw someone benching 405 for 4 or 5 reps RAW. Not so much in comparison to many lifters, but that's by far the most I've seen live. :D

Session was done in 40 mins or so... then ****ed around with flies for a few mins and posed off. I looked biggest today than I ever have with any pump. :) 198lbs.

I'm really working hard on strength; though the numbers I am most looking forward to increasing are the overhead presses, pullups, dips, squats and deads. I kinda liked this lower volume approach, just 2 heavy sets per exercise. I find when I do 3 heavys it just kills me. I'll likely stick with something like this in the future.

Whee... First time pretty much ever attempting a 1RM on my deads today. I pulled 295 with one pretty damn slow rep. It's kind of frustrating that I couldn't get 300 but then all of a sudden 295 was possible. Damn, 300 looks about 10x better than 295 when you write it out. Oh well. 3pps here I come!

Calf raises will be done next time on the good ol' seated raise. I was doing about 175 on those for about 9 reps so let's hope to see some sort of improvements.

Just starting off, those hangs are pretty good. I think you'll be surprised at how fast you improve.

Lol. temp = temporary. A little gimmick that we picked up very early when we started lifting about people who would lift for about a week saying how they'd get big, then disappearing the next week. We use this just to motivate eachother when we miss sessions. Also used as a derogatory term to insult others. :)Ahhhh. Finally I understand...TEMP! :windup:

Hockey: No reason to yet. This is the first time I haven't made a gain on Deads since a month or two ago. If it happens for 2-3 more session I'll consider it. Might drop deads all together for a couple months and focus on Rack lockouts, hypers and GMs. We'll see.

I see. But even if you could potentially be stronger with sumo, how would you know right away? Wouldn't you have to get used to sumo-ing for the first month or two?

Missed back today as my whole back (lower and upper) are sore from deads, shoulders and traps. My whole schedule is ****ed to be honest... I'd likely be better off switching to Zdawgs split. We'll see in a week or two.

As I've said to a couple of other people, I find BB lunges extremely difficult. I can't keep my balance well, and so haven't even bothered getting acclimated to the exercise. Why do you walk, as opposed to doing them in place?

$10 more than the on-line price, or the total on-line incl. shipping? If it's in the range of $35-$40 Cdn, then that would be really good. Let me know if you have any luck. I've got a #3 and #4 coming in, but I might be tempted to get a #2.

I don't mind buying used, depending on the gripper. I wouldn't buy Heavy Grips used, because the price for new is so low. I've got a used IM#1. I've got a used Robert Baraban gripper coming my way (steel handled RB 260), and a bonus is that I got it off somebody who has a lot more experience with different grippers (especially the tougher ones), so I have a better gauge of my progress (apparently the RB 260 is like a tough #3, and the #1 is slightly harder than average). Besides which, RB grippers are expensive to ship from Austria (this one's coming from the U.S.), so it becomes an even better deal.

If they aren't modified (e.g. filed), I've read that grippers tend to hold up pretty well after the first 100 or so closes when te spring seasons.

Nice job on the phonebook tears. I've got to save a few for the next meet so we can go over technique. With your size (I'm assuming big hands to go with it) and good technique, you should be outdoing me in no time.

Some stupid trainer starting giving me **** about dropping the weights when I do deads. I first tried to explain to her if I go any slower I'll wreck my back, it's just the way the exercise is. She decides to tell me I should be going lighter because dropping the weights in inappropriate and distracting. This is coming from the gym that has tons of guys dropping DBs after presses and where half there members scream to eachother across the gym about totally negatable topics. The gym had to replace like 5 pairs of DBs because jackass kept dropping them, but rather than even saying 1 word about that she gets one about deadlifting. Ticked me off, so I told her to go watch a powerlifting meet and she'll understand. Apparantly this was bad attitude so she starts mouthing off at me, which advanced me to tell her I'd be happy to leave the gym for good with a full refund of the membership price. Then she left. Whore.

= Hell ****ing yeah. I wanted 315 for 1 when school started... this was awesome. 2nd rep wasn't much deeper than parallel.

Leg Press: 20x4pps, 20x4pps+15, 20x5pps (+40W)
== Ouch.

Standing Leg Curls: 10x45, 10x60
== ****ing sucked so...

Lying Leg Curls: 11x110
== Done slow. Need to get my form on SLDL down as I cant do those every workout (they suck too much). My blister was a no go for even trying stiffies today though.

Standing Calf Raise 5/5x115 (single leg), 14x2pps, 7x3pps
== Single legs felt awful. I suck at unilateral ****z. Gonna do seated next time.
