You've got a nice lean base to start with, always good to start lean I say. Keep it up, and get to eating!

You've got a good base to start from, and I was just reading a Berardi article that showed how a lean base will pack on more lean mass than fat on a bulk (if you start fat, you're more likely to partition weight gain toward more fat). It's one of the reasons I worked so hard to lean out this time before my winter bulk.

Now, go lift heavy things and eat up! Track on www.fitday.com - I know it's a nuisance, but it'll keep you on track. If you don't make any gains, you're not eating enough, and you'll KNOW how much you ARE eating, so it'll help you know how much more to eat.

You've got what look like nice long legs with a good shape and nice cuts in your quads. Don't know about the hammies or calves, so I'll reserve comment.

Your chest has a good shape and will fill in nicely. You also have a nice small waist. Unfortunately, like me, you lack natural width through the shoulders and lats, so you'll have to work those areas hard - make sure you work your side and rear delts hard to give more width and squareness to your shoulders as you build them up.

I'm looking forward to watching your progress. :)

thank you very much built for your detailed comment, i have purchased a program which is like fitday but it is an Australian version and its on my destop and i believe it is easyer to use.

i wish i had a smaller waist, mine is 33in and i wish it was lower. ive got a wierd hip and waist.

and i have next to no calves, my genetic potential for calves are next to none.

my shoulder structure is a problem, they are not very broad and slope downwards, so ill have to work on them hard. aswell as my lats.

i hope i can get my home equipment soon so i can get things in order.

We ALL have our bears to cross. LOL!

I started with ZERO upper body, 40 extra pounds, and a HUGE ass.

No matter what we START with, we ALL look better AFTER we start this sport than before!

Oh, here's the Berardi article: http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/qa/afc/afc_jul272001.htm

Thanks Built, i wasnt too worried about gaining fat but its good to know that most of the mass gained will be LBM.

Matt - lookin good bro! You are nice and lean, and have clear potential. Just keep it up, and like others have said, eat a lot! Also make sure you are gettin enough protein and such (I'm sure you know that already).

And don't worry about your underarm hair.. I got a lot too, who cares? =P.

yeah i dont mind it, keeps you warm in the winter.

Its heating up now in Aussie, it was 30 degrees celsius(86F) today and i hear its gonna climb, so thats why i decided to trim lol.

Very nice and lean. I wish I was ripped like that. Probably around 9-10% BF? Just a guess. Anyway, eat up and you'll be a monster with that awesome base.

How many calories a day are you currently consuming?

Shankerr
09-10-2005, 05:00 PM
haha good choice to lose the hair.. but... honestly man I think you have a good start at it. From the looks of the shape of all your muscles, and the way your bone structure is, you have a frame that will support a lot of good looking muscle. Just keep at it and fill out. My only recommendation is to eat.. eat so much it hurts.. people should be afraid of losing a hand or a child when you're eating... Do that and train hard, and I bet you'll fill out really well.

Matt04
09-10-2005, 07:48 PM
Thanks guys for all ya comments,

umm i think i mite be eating around 2300-2500 cals a day which is my maintenance, when i start the bulk i will try to comsume 3000 a day and see if i gain. do you think 3000 would be enough for me to kick start some weight/strength/ size gains?

hahahahahahahaha thats awesome. thats goin in the signiture.

fixationdarknes
09-10-2005, 08:05 PM
Yeah 3000 should be good. I'm willing to bet you can keep your BF% at the same level while adding more mass. If your BF% rises, it will probably be just a little bit.

Matt04
09-10-2005, 08:10 PM
that would be sweet, im not too worried if it goes up a bit. its just more weight for me to through around when rugby starts up again.

im hopeing that i can one day get too 165 at 9%, but by then ill probly want to get too 200 lol.

fixationdarknes
09-11-2005, 12:10 PM

3k/day will be cash money. Don't be afraid to push the limit with the food. :)

Hey how's it going? Well seems like your body can produce "fruit" if you properly train and eat a heck of a lot.. Definitely want to take in lots carbs/calories to gain lbs and mass. While doing that train at a moderate pace ( 3-4days a week min) then when u get to you decent desirable weight then kick you workout into overdrive and do major cutting and significant gains.. I used to be your size 8+ yrs ago... U CAN DO IT!!!

Matt04
10-05-2005, 08:59 PM
Thank you very much Muscd Unit, yes thats the plan to try and gain as much weight as possible. im still gettin my stuff together but when ive got it im gunna go hardcore with the eatin.
