I have done many searches on information for muscle milk. On one of the threads in this section, people were talking about how muscle milk is good for GAINING weight... I bought it mostly because on the bottle it says its a good fat burner... I am 5'9, 180 and i do not need more fat... I am trying to cut, however, at the same time gain muscle mass. I understand that the fat in Muscle Milk is "helpful" fat, however I am still confused. I have read about how much people like Thermocin... Should I still be taking Muscle Milk after my workouts, or is it doing more harm than help?

I just drank one of these 10 minutes ago. Pretty damn good... I think it says fat burner simply because it contains no trans-fats. I don't think there are any fat burners/thermogenics in the product.

the muscle milk RTD's have like, 3g of carbs, but taste awesome.

they are 'helpful for fat loss' to trick the fAtkins people into thinking its a miracle drink. its not...its just a protein shake.

Yeah, they do taste reallyfreakin good though. Drink like a gatorade or eat something with simple carbs along with the muscle milk.

The new version states this: Efficient Energy Production: Lean LipidsTM are special fats that are easily mobilized for workout energy, enhance your body's fat metabolism and promote protein synthesis, anti-imflammatory effects and mineral retention.

That is why there is a "fat burning" lable on the tub.

I'm guessing the lean lipids are MCTs or something?

Yes.

Aren't MCTs preferentially burned.

So although this product does burn fat, it just won't burn stored triglycerides.

I believe that's the thinking behind it.
I've only had the RTD's not the powder. By far the best tasting RTD I've had, and it's not cloyingly sweet like others.
