Ive heard that you can buy just egg whites. Im still going to eat a few whole eggs but i want to make omlettes from just eggwhites or maybe one yolk. Is it more cost efficiant to buy the egg whites alone?

yep, not very cost effective. now if they could make chickens that produced a yolkless egg...that'd be something!

Cost isn't as bad an issue, (if you buy at cosco,) as taste. Trust me, they're pretty discusting, though I eat them every morning mixed w/ whole eggs. They are very like watery tasting, even when cooked thoroughly, and tend to taste like foam. Ya they do save you some cals tho when trying to cut (which is why I forcefeed em.)

There's a store here called Smart Shopper that sells food dirt cheap. They must buy stuff near expiration in huge lots from retailers and liquidate it. I get cartons of egg-whites for $.50, they're frozen though, so I have to thaw them first. Works fine. I still use plenty of fresh eggs too.
