I've been wanting to try ZMA for a while... I've been reading about it, but every source I see is biased because they're trying to sell it.

I was wondering what your opinions on ZMA are if you've tried it before. I don't want to buy this product thinking it's some gimmick similar to NO2 :-)

Thanks a bunch,

If you're deficient in Zinc and Magnesium, it may prove slightly useful, but I wouldn't be counting on it to give you great gains or anything.

I agree with Shao-Lin

just take a multi-vitamin/mineral and you should be fine.

If you are deficient in Zinc and Magnesium, it would only make sense to do the cost-effective thing--but a multi! Compare ZMA to a Multi and do a cost-analysis. Multi's will get you Zn and Mg plus a host of others...

ZMA is nothing more than vitamins and minerals.

Theres a strong chance that it's all in my head, but I seem to sleep better/sounder on ZMA then off of it which for me equals better lifting results. I don't think it really raises test levels enough to matter though.

It may be a placebo effect, but zinc and magnesium make me sleep like a rock.

Just check if your regular multivitamin has enough magnesium and zinc. If it doesn't then buy some separate magnesium and zinc capsules at the nearest grocery store. $5 for a 100 day supply instead of $30 for a 30 day supply.

I thought ZMA had more to do with the types of elements then just the elements.

ZMA has more to do with Marketing smoke and mirrors and people that don't do any research before they buy something.

I admit it's pretty crazy that a company can make such a false claim.

If the car you bought didn't have ABS as advertised you would have a strong case.

If the ZMA you bought dosen't increase your test...you're simply out of luck.

I definitely sleep more soundly on ZMA than nothing, and I can compare it to taking melatonin...ZMA holds better all night...melatonin I usually wake up at 3 am for a few mins...annoying as hell.

Also, ZMA is only meant to help the body produce its natural test levels. If you're already peaked naturally, ZMA won't create any more test. If you have naturally low Test, ZMA won't fix that.

As for zinc in your multi...calcium blocks zinc absorption, so if your multi has calcium, you just lost a bunch of zinc absorption. So taking zinc separate is a good idea, be it through straight zinc supps, or ZMA at night.

Try NOW brand vitamins for cheaper ZMA.

I decided to give it a go and try it.

The first two nights I didn't sleep any better or worse.

Finally on the 3rd night I managed to sleep all night long in the same position.

A few weeks later I've used it every night except about 2. Those nights I definetly wake up more. On it I usually wake up once at about 3:30 to 5:30 to go to the bathroom (this is what happens when you drink right before going to sleep).

I can't speak for the testosterone levels, but I know I sleep 10x better.

Just go to Bulk Nutrition. It is realtively cheap. $15.99 for a 60 day supply.
