heres a little background, i been lifting for 3 months going on 4. 20 y/o male and 200lb -+. my current supplements im taking are: whey protein (post workout) and fish oil caps 2 times a day after meals.
what would you recommend as a pre workout supplement that would amp me up before a good weight lifting session? i was browsing around here and other forums about BSN's No-Xplode...seems like its a mixed review product.
other than that, i dont want to spend too much unless im getting massive quanities of it. post your expierence or personal expierence of someone if you can too of a pre workout supplement

Or if you're like me and EC does absolutely nothing for you as far as stimulatory effects are concerned, l-tyrosine with caffeine and ALCAR is a good combo.

I think my heart would stop if I took an ECA (or EC) stack before I had a workout.
I'm wired the first 4 hours after one from just doing office work.

Where would you get such a pill? Or is it a combination of 2 pills? I found a website selling ephedrine HCL , but it does not contain caffeine. I believe they are selling it for "asthma and breathing difficulties". I am looking to get rid of just a couple of pounds to really lean out , I've stepped up my cardio , got my diet in line , and so I'm just looking for an added boost.

You buy them separately.
If your diet is fine, you don't need to step up your cardio or take a fat burner. The most you can really expect from EC is some energy and a bit of mild appetite suppression, which can make it a little easier to train on lower calories, and make it a little easier to STAY on lower calories.

IF you can afford it AND you want to WASTE your money. Do a search on here about NO and/or NoXplode and you'll get a lot of feedback on that topic.

To each his/her own. I've tried many different pre-workout supps, and at the risk of sounding like a fanboy, NoXplode worked the best for me. I've tried caffeine/alcar, etc stacks and really do like NoXplode the best. If you have a buddy and can get a sample, that's a good route as it IS expensive.

I'm not sure what is in your NoXplode besides Creatine and some arginine (or some other NO precursor) (magically, the link on BSN's website for the supplement facts is broken), but neither of those two will "amp you up", to my knowledge.
Although I found this description (from the website) hilarious:
"To get a maximum pump, you've got to connect with your muscles with 100% focus on every set and every rep (the mind-muscle connection). Existing stimulant products give you a general mental "kick" that often leaves you less focused (and more agitated) than you were before.
NO-Xplode's one-of-a-kind blend of methylxanthine and nootropics (brain stimulating nutrients) energizes your brain and body with the most focused intensity imaginable, within minutes of ingestion. It physically and mentally prepares you for the most growth-stimulating workout possible, and then it carries you through it. You not only feel an improvement in your mood and well being but it actually seems to stimulate the desire to workout."

It pumps me up and gets me ready to workout. Could be the caffeine... I don't know. Both myself and my workout partner use it and it has the safe effect on both of us. If I take it too late in the day I'm up all night so it must be doing something.
You can also try Neurostim +C as well. If that's on the spendy side, take a look at the actives and do a homebrew and you can come pretty close for less.

Just read a detail; its caffeine, 2 of arginine, and 2g of creatine per serving.
NO (arginine) is a vasodilator (relaxes your blood flow) and caffeine is a vasoconstrictor (constricts your blood flow); sounds like some crappy synergy to me...
Likely it is the caffeine that gives you the effect. Keep taking it if you think it works, but I think you're getting ripped off.

You disagree with what, exactly?
-The detail of what is in your supplement is correct
-The fact that Arginine is a vasodiolator and caffeine a vasoconstrictor is correct (which is outlined in the beginning of your link as well, the entire post is about the "pump". To my knowledge, this thread is about a pre-workout energy booster, not a "pump")
-The fact that caffeine is the only stimulant in your supplement is correct.
I hate to address the BB.com thread; but your friend admits that caffeine raises bp by constriction, and it is proven that arginine lowers bp by dialation. Your thread has a bunch of people saying that it has never affected "their pump" taking the two together.

to each his own. like i said, get a sample and try it out but DO NOT buy it. i used it for a couple months, tried a few other things, mixes, etc, but then went back to noxplode.
shoot, i'll mix everything in the world and go as cheap as i can but NoXplode is the one thing I really do like because it gets me up for workouts and give me more stamina. plenty of other things out there for sure. shoot, i will say i enjoy the pumps as well. they may help out growth, they may not. mentally though, if it helps keep you focused and improves your workout, keep using it.

you're correct, i thought you were arguing the effectiveness of the pump it gives and if the two cancel each other out as far as the pump goes.

If you really want to use it, you can buy arginine & creatine powder a hell of a lot cheaper than No-Xplode.
