what are your guy's thoughts on these... i caved the other day, got tired of having to make my bars all the time. Theres two brand new ones, banana walnut and blueberry muffin... seems the ingredient list has gotten simpler, and the fat content was cut in half...

Nutrition Facts: Calories 410, Fat 9g (2g sat), Carbohydrates 46g, Fiber 4g, Sugar 17g(looks like mostly from fruit)Protein 30g

cant beat 400 cals that fits in your pocket... chase it with a glass of milk and youve got a decent little meal.

Chef Jay has been busted for not meeting lable claims in the past. They strongly denied the labs results and as far as I know have not made any changes. As I recall they were way off. A lot less protein and way more carbs than claimed on the lable. If you are on a strict diet I wouldn't trust them. If you are just looking for something to fill your belly they do taste pretty good.

Do you have a link to this? I buy these bars quite often because it's a good 420 cals when I'm traveling or otherwise unable to eat a prepared meal. If that is true I may have to reconsider.

that was in the past... the company has changed all the nutritional info, and these bars were not even invented when that test was conducted. I still think, even with the screwed up label claims, these are some of the best bars out there. Way better than that other sugar or sugar alchohol loaded crap out there.

What I want to know is why is there so much fat in them? 16g per bar seems a bit excessive, although if they are healthy fats I won't complain.

While it's true that the new flavors were not available when these tests were conducted it does not change that fact that the company got caught lying about their nutritional info. As far as I know they have changed nothing about the bars. They claimed that the lab results were flawed and they stood by their claims. Then the bars were retested with the same results. They got caught in a lie and don't deserve your trust IMHO.

The Tri-O-Plex bars were tested about November 4, 2003

http://www.labelclaimstesting.com/?pageID=20

This new line just came out.

They were way under on protein and over on carbs but remember this was during a rediculous Atkins craze. (Not that it makes it OK)

The bottom line is they are way healthier than allmost anything you could grab away from home.

One of the cleanest bars and far better than any fast food out there.

They inspired me to make my own.
