View Full Version : protein bars good enough?

if i was to eat say 4 bars of protein a day that have 15 grams each, is that gonna hurt anything, it seems they taste to good to be healthy, also what about having 4 protein shakes a day at 40 grams per serving? would these be "cheating" ways of getting protein or "bad" protein,. of course they are not as good as eating beef/chicken and what not, but what you guys think?

It's not cheating or bad, but like you said, it's not as good as beef/chicken, so why would you choose them over what you know is better for you? Do you have a low appetite, or perhaps always on the go?

I would not eat more than 1 protein bar a day, and try to limit myself to 2 shakes a day. These are supposed to be supplements to your whole food...not to replace 80% of your meals.

I can personally vouche for the unpleasantness your digestive system will go through if you start drinking 4 shakes/MRP's/protein bars a day. Pack whole food, in gladware containers. I'm at work all day, on the phone constantly, and I"m still sitting here eating oats for meal #2 without a problem.
