Not a big fan of taking creatine w/ water or gatorade...Any thoughts on adding my 5g of creatine to say a protein shake that I take prior to working out?

Any good or bad doing this?

Take it after.

I just put a spoonful in my mouth and drink it down with a swig of water. It's just the fastest and easiest way.

Or toss it in your post workout shake.

I've heard taking it with some type of juice due the the fact it contains carbs and gets delivered faster?

Juice is sub-optimal because of the fructose.

If you're going to bother using a sugar, use dextrose. (Or maltodextrin.)

Taking anything with something like dextrose will improve absorption. Therefore, adding dextrose to your shake will increase the absorption of the creatine as well as the other nutrients in the shake. However, that being said, dextrose also contains a fair amount of calories and can cause bloating... so it's really a personal preference.

You should definitly take the creatine post w/o though due to the increased absorption post w/o (your body is looking for it).
