View Full Version : Counting calorie in prepared meal, how?

It's been confusing me for a while.
I usually cook my meal by putting it in the oven, the problem is, say..I prepare my chicken breast, it weighs 350g uncooked, and after its cooked and taken out of the oven, it now weighs something like 250g!

So when I count the calorie based on weight on this meal, should I calculate it based on the weight before or after cooking?

Chicken breast, raw, skinless and boneless, per 100g:

Calories: 110
Protein: 23.1
Carbohydrate: nil
Fat: 1.2
Fibre: nil

Or you can use the cooked values in Fitday. Whatever works better for you. I always weigh raw, that's just easier for me.

Your gonna get answers from both categories, before and after. I always use before. Just choose one and stick w/ it.

hm okay, I think im gonna use before weight then as Im cutting now, so Id rather be on the low cal side.

use after its cooked, thats when you eat it right?
