View Full Version : Post-cardio meal, how important is it`?

Hi guys
I was wondering how important do you think post-cardio meal is? especially if you do the cardio right before you go to sleep.

Currently I do HIIT 3 times a week, 2 days in the morning and one day when I have to do it after I get back from work in the evening, around 11 p.m.

The last time I did HIIT in the evening, I went to bed directly without eating anything because I had already reached my cal for that day.

Today, I spare some cal and plan to take about 30g whey protein after HIIT and before I go to bed.
Does this sound better?

All this is seen from a cutting perspective, btw.

id always take protein before you go to bed and i think almost every1 does. i have never heard or looked into having a post cardio meal/shake i would think it would be the same as a post workout meal but ive also read somewere that you shouldnt eat for an hour after cardio as this is when you are burning alot of cals not sure how tru it is

yeah, i ve read about that "window of opportunity" an hour after cardio too.

What I want to know is, would it have a catabolic effect and break down your muscle protein if you dont eat anything at all and just go to bed
