As of late my 225 reps has been going up but I feel as though my 1rm is going down. Now it could be because I am attempting this after I go to failure with my 225X6. Is it possible that my 225 reps are going up are causing my 1rm to fall?

Defiantly not a good idea to attempt a 1rm after going to failure imo. Only way to find out though would be to do a couple warmup sets (nothing to failure) then work your way up to your 1rm. That will tell you if its going down or not.

Yeah that sounds like a logical approach because thinking about it now, Going for 225X6 I really gotta push it out. Takes alot outta me.
You shouldn't be going to failure on rep sets if you are only concerned with your max.

You're 1RM probably hasn't changed much, but why the hell would you be doing a set of 225x6 while working up to a max?

Why don't you warm up and then go straight to 240, and try to keep it between 3-6 reps. More weight = more overload = more fiber recruitment.
