I faithfully drink almost exactly half a gallon of water a day. It's hard to drink much during the day while I'm in school, so when I get home I'm constantly sipping on my milk-jug full of water. I've read that 1 - 2 gallons a day is good, but would have a gallon be enough? Half a gallon is the recommended 8 cups, but if I should drink more I could.

It won't hurt to drink more. Water is mainly what your muscles are made of, so I would try to drink as much as you can.

Some teachers might not appreciate someone coming and going every 10 minutes to pee...

Yeah, my urine is always nice and clear. I haven't drank any pop or other carbonated drinks in a couple months now, not even once for a little treat, just my half gallon of water and probably 3 - 4 glasses of milk a day.

When I was in highschool I would take a 20 oz water bottle to every class. Between classes I would fill it up and then drink it during my next class.

Make sure during your passing periods between classes you make sure to go pee or you will definitely have to go during class, which can aggrivate some teachers.

The advantage of drinking more water is definitely worth the effort to get it down every day.

Its a gallon plus for water and food combine. So if you have a lot of foods with water(fruit, milk, yogurt, oats, rice, etc) you dont need as much. I think about 10-14 is a good amount for a normal size person, and more than a gallon for 4000 plus maintenince cals and 300 bench or something or 200lbs weight. IDK. Just my 2 cents.

I fill a gallon jug when I get to work at 9:15am and I make sure I finish it by the time I leave around 6:30pm. I drink about 40 ounces of water during my workout and about 40 ounces of water between my workout and bedtime.
