the past week or so ive been around people im normally not due to the holidays. after watching how these people are and their eating habits (im excluding the holiday meals), all i have to say is that its no wonder most of the country is so damn fat.

one that comes to mind is a 13 year old girl.. she drank can after can of pop and finished off most, if not all, of a can of cheese by herself in one sitting. i dont think im better than anyone else at all, but its unreal to me how people can just down 13 cookies without thinking about the consequences.

Ya, before I started lifting. My friends and I would spend the night at each others houses. And we'd eat about 2 bags of doritos and like 4 or 5 cokes each in the course of one night.

I remember reading somewhere that the average american drinks 20 lbs(calories) worth of coke per year.

*munch munch* yeah i know what you mean :), lol@orange

actually, i cant say i've never had 13 cookies in one sitting but i know I am always thinking about consequences to whatever choices i make. the people that baffle me are those who eat cookies or gulp soda and dont even notice what they are doing. soda is the thing i cannot understand. if you're gonna do something like that why not pizza? a cookie? chocolate? but soda calories....they are beyond my comprehension

Good question. I've had about four cokes in the past four years, myself.

I think it's because most people are uneducated and don't realize how many calories are in a single can of coke.

That and they think its "Food"

actually the thing i dont get is most DONT think its food at all. they dont notice it. its just a drink, like water. if theres no coke theyll settle for water but its all the same. i just dont get it.

It's no more amazing than how someone can down a 5th of Mr. Boston, or 27 oz. Boones Farm or three...

i think eating sh:tty is just as routine to most people like eating healthy is to most of us. like the previous post said, to them, a coke or two is just a drink like water. they dont look at it as 50g of sugar, plus if they go out to eat, you can count on 3 or 4 refills. thats like 200+g of sugar in your drink alone, i dont even take in that much protein in a day.

crappy "food" and bad eating habits is just american culture i think. i mean how many of us have been to a house that had a 'snack' drawer in the kitchen? probably werent too many protein bars in there.

a friend of mine who is like shiat skinny, hes as tall as me, 6"4, and hes like 125 lbs, he drinks a litre of coca cola every day.

****.... cat imagine that.,

i do know that before i started lifting i would sometimes eat whole packs of cookies in one sitting. (thats like 35 of em)

now, the thought of that makes me barf, and i know if i never did that i might not be so flabby now.

I've got some friends like that. It's insane, they sit in front of the computer all day long(literally) and eat whatever they want whenever they want and are so skinny that they look sick.

well you never know about your friends guys, unless you're around them literally ALL the time. I used to think my friends ate whatever they wanted all the time and stayed the celery sticks they are but it turned out they pretty much just ate little portions of caloric crappy foods. Or, there is one of my friends who had a ton of junk food when we went out to TGIFriday's one night but then we found out she had eaten two english muffins all day in preparation. Same with my sister--she eats crap and drinks coke but she only eats twice a day or so and not too much either.

so many people have their first meal of the day at like 2 pm....
how do you get your ass up without having breakfast?
and drinking a SHITload of water in the morning, i always feel dehydrated then.

Man it's disguisting..

The thing that gets me is that these people will use this stuff as a meal. My friends get hungry so they get pizza and soda, where is the protein? The RDA is something like 60% of calories from carbs, it's no wonder people are so fat. I think it's sad that people will spend thousands of hard earned dollars to maintain their car or house but they will treat their bodys like garbage.

Then there are all those women who hardly eat at all (like Jane mentioned) and when they do eat something it's a bagel or a cup of yogurt or some soy thingy and then they moan about how they ate so much today...

That gets really old too...

To be fair, I actually do drink quite a lot of coke.
