View Full Version : What should I eat with my eggs/oats in the morning?

I always either eat 3 large eggs, just scrambled, and a glass of milk, or 2 servings of quick oats, and a glass of milk. Either way, I'm not getting a ton of protein with my breakfast, even if I'm eating 3 eggs. Anybody have anything extra I could throw in that would taste good with these combinations?

Part of my breakfast is oats with yogurt and fruit. If you wanted more protein you could throw some whey in there.

Man, I really need to get some whey. I really don't know much at all about protein supplements, and what to buy and where to buy it. For instance, what's the difference between whey and creatine? How much does it usually cost? Where should I get it? I'd like to start taking something that I could make into a shake or put into my oats, but I have no clue what to look for.

You don't need whey. I don't use it.

Whey is protein. Creatine is a different creature entirely. If you have questions about supps, they have their own forum.

I mix whey with my oats every morning. 1 scoop of whey per 1/2 cup of oats works nice. Cook the oats, then add the whey and some more water after its cooked. Mix, and enjoy. Chocolate nitrean and oats with some splenda is TOO good. I have trouble controlling myself its so tasty.

I don't know what your goals are but you should be eating the eggs and oats and milk all for breakfast. I would have the only have 1 whole egg and like 3-4 whites, 1c. oats and a cup of milk. that's what 67 g. carbs, 38g. prot 10.5g. of fat.

i counted that as if it were skim milk since you didn't specify

Natural peanut butter

I toss in a couple scoops of whey into my oats. You might also try eating more eggs, specifically whites. If you change your egg mix to include 6 whites, and 3 yolks, you'll add more protein, and not a lot more bulk.

You dont NEED whey, its just an easier way to get in more protein. ON whey protein is good. I take two scoops of that, slice of wheat bread, and my vits in the morning.

I mix whey, oats, banana, strawberries and juice in the blender and then chug it.

Make pancakes!
6 eggs (5 whites 1 whole), 1 cup of oatmeal (uncooked) , 1 banana, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 tsp of ground cinnamon. blend and fry with VERY little or no EVO oil. Delicious and protein packed.

You eat eggs without bacon? Shame on you.

Try some "All Whites". It's basically all natural egg whites in a carton. Pure protein that you can add to your 3 whole eggs.

EDIT - i think it could be called "Just Whites".

Take a slice of cheese and mix it into your eggs as you're frying them- it'll melt and mix in well. Tasty++

Get some lox and have some lox with your eggs, just on the side or a whole wheat bagel with a small bit of cream cheese and lots of lox (with the 3 eggs it should be a nice protein infusion).

I put salsa on my eggs, and mix Splenda and cinnamon into my oats. Adds taste with no calories.

Yeah, I usually put a good amount of cheese in with my scrambled eggs actually.

I just gonna try eating 4 eggs instead of 3, and on oats day I eat a sunnyside egg with it as well. Thanks guys.
