I've been struggling a little bit lately to get in some high simple carb foods and it would be good to get some fresh ideas. What kind of high carb foods do you guys like to put in your pre-workout meals or shakes? And I'm referring to actual healthy foods for the carbs to come from, not anything like dextrose or maltose (although maybe I should do this anyway, but I prefer getting sugar from healthier sources). I'm on a bulk right now so I'm up for any ideas.

There's a thread here: http://wannabebigforums.com/showthread.php?t=55362 But that's not what I'm lookin' for. Thanks.

If there is a thread I missed, please point me in that direction and my apologies in advance if there's another thread.

What's unhealthy about dextrose and maltodextrin? It's the right carb for the job.

I use oats as well, but adding a cup of oats in a shake is a bit crazy sometimes. The other day I had a shake that had a cup of oats, a giant banana, 16 ounces of milk and 2 scoops of egg white protein powder and that ended up being a 24 ounce shake, lol. It was a bit nuts.

that sounds similar to my shakes!:) It's pretty tasty too, but I'm lactose intolerant so having to take enzymes with each shake gets a bit old. :/

I may just give in and buy some dextrose/maltose supplements. Do you know where I can find some for cheap?

Anything other than malto/dex will be a slower carb.

U-brews sell them, and online.
