Bulking really makes me sleepy. I find myself laying down for a short power nap after every couple meals.

i believe the thing that makes you sleepy is if you eat alot, then your body utilizes a majority of its energy to digest the food

Could be all the carbs. Nothing knocks me into a daze like a heavy carb meal.

Carbs does it for me too, especially when my diet has a lot of potatoes. Since switching to oatmeal, I have no issues.

Now that you mention it, I have been taking alot of naps lately. I thought it was just because I was trying to avoid studying, but I guess it could be all the food. I do eat alot of carbs.

Glad I stumbled on this topic. Since I started bulking I have been really tired after school, and usually take a 1-2 hour nap. I was actually starting to worry a little bit.

Busting my ass in the gym, combined with a full stomach is nap time for me.

could be the carbs and plus when one eats a large meal the body releases tryptophan which makes you tired.

I found when i was bulking having big huge meals made me feel tired and stuffed so i had smaller meals but often like 7 or 8 a day and i didnt feel as tired. I think with having big huge meals while on a bulk you get that after christmas dinner feeling all the time were you cant be bothered to move

Man I thought I was the only one. I feel permanently sleeping anytime I'm eating alot and working out.

Its good to have a little nap during the day anyways. I kind of feel refreshed and recovered afterwards

I eat plenty of low GI carbs throughout the day. Helps me. Most high GI carbs kill me, as do large amounts of fat and protein. I can't imagine what something like a weight gainer drink would do to me.
