Are you sure it is 400 lbs? Those big plates are bumper plates and may not weigh 44-45 lbs.

That said, he is jerking the weight and I have seen more than that done in the BTN style in a strongman contest.

In any event, it is a VERY impressive lift.

That was pretty bad form, but forgivable if it was as heavy as you say. I sort of doubt it's 400lbs though.

Well, that's what he said anyway. I was pretty sure the big bumpers were 25KG = ~55lb (at least they are at my gym).

Yeah, I guess it is more of a jerk than a pp. It's still pretty beast, though. He aint got **** on you chris.

Guys, it is not poor form it is a behind the neck jerk. The form is quite good.

It probably is 400 lbs and I could not jerk that BTN in my wettest of dreams although I do appreciate the props dw06wu.

I was referring to the foot position. He did a very sideways split. I would call it very powerful but not great form. With improved form and a deeper split he could jerk much more.

I think he has about 385lbs on there... which is pretty damn impressive. The form was pretty weak as far as olympic lifting goes. But maybe he's more into strongman than olympic lifting.

Well, those power & bulk guys are pretty crazy. Lots of really strong guys on there.

that was sooo weak. i see highschool kids do more and with better form. he just threw it in the air. i didn'd even bring it down at all. I think he is a (|).

You must hang around some pretty strange high school kids.

As for throwing it in the air, all he needed was to get it overhead. Maybe you should see some oly lifting taoes, and you'll see why it is that people use bumper plates-so that they can drop it after the lift. He's a strongman, not a boobybuilder.

400lbs overhead is a sick lift, PERIOD.

Unless that bar's made of plastic, I'd say that's close to 400lbs. Check out how it bends over his shoulders.

Ok, I think I got it figured out.
3 20Kg bumpers/side
1 25lb/side
1 10lb/side
1 5lb/side
1 2.5lb/side
+45lb bar
= 394. That's using 20*2.2, one Kg is actually a little more than 2.2lb. 400, there you go. quit wondering.

Its 400 lb., those are Jesup gym bumpers that weigh 45 lb. each.
