So I'm trying to get rid of this creatine water weight I gained. I've been drinking diet soda and lost 1 lbs so far. I got like 9 more to go, any suggestions?

Why diet soda?

Caffeine can help. Drink green tea all day.

You don't want water retention, but you're taking creatine????

I started taking it then stoped when I found out 1. it's not that great, and 2. you gain a lot of water weight. I was talking to a guy who said "you'll pee it out in a month", just looking to speed that up a little.

Green tea sounds good.

the water retention is in your muscles...not a bad place to have more water. The creatine in them pulls more water in to balance things out. Chill out and just let nature run its course.

You don't hold THAT much water. And creatine works damn good for a widely available supp, I don't know what the hell you're talkin about.

I don't deny that creatine is helpful in some respects but I don't think I NEED it. When I started to take creatine (before I started to bulk) and gained 10lbs in a week. 5lbs pounds in 2 days. I was shocked by the weight gain and asked a trainer what it could be from. He said it was water.. made sense. You can't gain 10 lbs of fat in 1 week eating 2000 calories a day as I was. I also find that I retian more water durring the day (like 2lbs). I'm don't enjoy the fluctuation of weight. I want to keep track of my weight gain on a steady scale. Once I start to gain regulary I will start taking it again.

Now.. I have to go pee again :D

so you don't think you NEED creatine, but you're asking about steroid-like alternatives in another post??

wtf?

A few intense cario sessions should take care of some of that water weight.

And also, some people are nonresponders to creatine.

And what do you care about some water weight if you are bulking? I'd be more concerned about weight from fat.

asking about steroid-like alternatives in another post

I also stated, clearly I believe, that I was not intrested in taking them but rather in their effectiveness / legitimacy for my own personal knowledge.

Built, how do you know so much? Have you been working out since you were 12 or something? You should right a book. Every question I ask you're all over it.

You just TOTALLY made my day.

<giggle>

I started lifting in the fall of 2001, at the tender age of 38, 170 lbs and probably close to 40% bodyfat.

That, and yet ANOTHER change in diet, was my last ditch effort to lose weight before giving up.

It worked.

So I kinda got really, REALLY interested in it, yanno?

Funny how success motivates... ;)

Wow, it took you only 4 years to go from 40% bf to that (your avatar).
Damn! good work.

Sorry for the reaction...I just didn't think it was humanly possible for you to be leaner than your previous [jaw-dropping] pics. I actually showed my friend your pics the other day and the first thing she said was "God D..."...well you get the idea.

How long does it take to get rid of the water retention? I've never read anything on the time course.

I'm not using creatine now......but when I was, my water retention was minimal. I'd say it took only 10-14 days to get rid of the little I had.
