View Full Version : Riding instructor/ horse trainerís journal

So here is my 3rd attempt at a journal and fitness, but here is a recap of what I want to achieve and where I stand at the moment:
As of last 11/1 I weight 120lbs my goal is 110. Iím 5í3 so my goal weight is not so far off.
I do tae kwon do 2 times a week, ride 2-3 horses about 3-4 days a week, and my trips to the gym are rare. But that is what I have to work with, any comments are welcome.

Tuesday: it was my last session with the trainer, now I have to make myself go
Gym:
1 elbow push up 12x2
ball hip extension 12x2
push up 12x2
4 way lunges with shoulder press (8lbs) 12x2
ball bench press (12.5) 12x2
ball rows (12.5) 12x2
ball flys (3) 12x2
squats 12x2

Bellydance at night

Wed:
rode 2 horses

Thursday:
rode 1 horse

Friday:
rode 2 horses
Sparing in TKD-started out with 5min of jump rope, then lot of kicking of rthe rest of the hour. There were only 3 people in class so I was paired up with my master, and he kicked hard. Great fun

Maybe I'll make it to the gym this weekend

Hey Getfit, long time no see, how is everything?

Well I didn't do anything this weekend, instead I had a nice romantic weekend with my man. oh and how can I forget about all the kids I had to teach :)

Tuesday:
Bellydance 1.5hrs -it was a great class because no one else came, so I had a 1on 1 with my teacher, and we worked on all my problems.

Tomorrow:
Horses and TKD

Diet = bad :( gotta start keeping a journal again

Yesterday:
Rode 2 horses, one was just walk for 30mins. and another full on training for over an hour. Also went to TKD at night and it was a nice stress relief session.
Some of the stuff we did:
10x3 squat/kick combo
10x3 dip pushup
10x5 crunches
half hour of wrestling, I had no idea how tiring that is

Hey Getfit, I havn't seen you on MSN either, that's weird

Today:
I spent a whole day at the ranch, rode 2 horses.

My whole body is sore: The legs from starting some serious riding for the last few days and arms from doing dip pushups yesterday

Ahh, soreness :)

That's awesome about getting one-on-one training in the bellydancing class.
And yeah, wrestling is awesome for tiring you out. It's enough to give you that feeling you used to get (or at least, I did) as a kid, where you just feel like you're so worn out that you can't do a single thing more. I haven't had that for a long time...

Nice job. My mom is also a horse trainer and I competed for and trained for a long time. We showed AQHA. What do you show/train?

Thanks, I train in dressage and starting young horses.

Today (friday):
Day: Rode Phoenix and Roman
Night: TKD sparing, it was a light day because my foot is hurting and I don't know why, but i can't put all my weight on it.

Wed:
TKD and rode 2 horses

Thursday:
Nothing other than rode 3 horses

Friday:
Sparring and kicking practice in TKD and rode 1 horse

Saturday:
Nothing, but I was teaching 3 lessons so i did a lot of walking for 3 hrs straight.

Did not know how tough it would be to really ride a horse until I tried it while on vacation...props for being so active!!

everyonce in a while. I actually haven't done it in years, and then a few weeks ago I rode for an hour without stirups and my calfs hurt so bad, I couldn't walk up the stairs for afew days. So now I ride without stirups once a week.

Last 2 weeks have been very lazy due to the holidays and swamped with work. Last week I only rode maybe 3 horses total. This week was just as bad. I rode 1 horse on wed. and 2 horses on friday. Also did TKD sparing on friday. I have bruises on my arms and shins because I didn't wear protection, except for around the body, and I was sparing with my master. I love sparing! If I was any good at it, I would consider competition.

I have hopes for next week, but there won't be any trips to the gym for a few months because my membership expired and there are no good deals right now.

it's been a while! ok there is nothing new, still bellydancing and riding horses and doing TKD. It's time to start about being serious about getting back in shape, but..... lazy, I'm really lazy I think. so yeah.......................
