anyone knows of any sports drink that's
- cheap
- sugar and carb free (or at least very low carb, below 5g)

i'm on a CKD and am trying to survive low blood pressure + low blood sugar. i thought a sports drink would be good while at the gym to help prevent me from blacking out.

P.S. we haven't got gatorade powder here

In Japan we have "Vaam" it's 0 calorie so it must have 0 carbs I guess. I don't know if you have it where you are. It's not too cheap, and I believe the powder and the jelly form have carbs, but the bottled stuff has 0 calories.

Gatorade powder isn't sugar/carb free anyway.

I don't know of any sports drinks that are sugar free...almost seems like it would defeat the purpose, but low carb ones - propel fitness water is one that I know of. It has like 3g of sugar I think. Another drink called Emergen-C....but I don't know how many carbs are in it.

There are some drinks at Hi-Health and GNC type supp stores that have sugar free drinks. They use Splenda instead. I don't remember what it's called. :/

At least you get some salts out of them, though.

Or you could get one of those salt-lick things :p

thanks for the suggestions! All Sport Zero is one of the products i've been interested in. Champion Lyte is another (0 cals, just sodium and potassium). only they can't be found in my country!#(@*%

TTT: yeah i think i might have to lick salt at the gym :P or eat something real salty before going

Sugar-free Tang is badass... not a "sports drink," but it has all the vitamin C you need, tastes great, and is cheap.

what about propel fitness water? That's what I drink to avoid high sugar sports drinks.

powerade option is awesome... their slogan is: "the hydration you want without all the calories and carbs!".... http://us.powerade.com/option/

10 oz:
10 calories
2 carbs
50g sodium
35g potassium
(from their website, shouldn't those be in MG?)

compared to 10 oz gatorade:
14 carb
110 sodium
30 potassium

seems to be what you're looking for
