here are a couple snapshots i took while in the dressing room at nordstrom's - veins were a bit frightened by the cold so most were hibernating.

just noticed how small your bone structure is. You must look huge in person. Very nice shape in the quads, tear drop and quad sweep look sick.

I bet the calves aren't really out of balance - it's probably the perspective of the shot, focussing on the quads.

mm, webb: no idea, haven't measured them. i'm hesitant to even wager a guess.

cphafner: surprisingly, they actually do have a fair amount of clothes at nordstrom's that i've purchased. not so much in the way of jeans or trousers (though i have bought some nice linen pants and wool trousers though .. that day i was actually trying on some jeans but couldn't find any that worked for me), but a fair amount of sweaters, tees, and neckties have worked very well for me.

bearwolfden: yes, they are a bit out of balance, but look lightyears better than they did about 3 years ago. i am happy with the overall shape of my calves, but they certainly could use about 2-3 inches to bring my proportions in better sync with each other.

built: unfortunately for me, bearwolfden called it correctly - they are out of balance.

Don't worry about the calves dude.. most people won't get past those huge Quads..

I think calves are one of those genetic things... like the bicep peak...

But if you want to try something.. this worked for me when I was 18 in college - I swear my calves doubled in size...
Supersetting heavy calf raises with Jump roping...
I would do heavy 5-10 rep max calf raises, then immediately jump rope - 20-50 reps per calf... only rest 30 secs and repeat... after the 4th set I would continue the jump roping for 200-300 reps..

Are you kidding? its no surprise that the size gains came from the 5-10 rep max calve raises. The jump rope is not going to give you anything.

If it were the case, long distance runners would carry big calves. Heavy weight low reps, controlled negative. its all you need

Ummmm......soccer players have huge calves and half of them don't lift weights. Next time you meet a pro/semi-pro soccer player take a look at their calves.

Not all soccer plays have good calves, in fact some of them are disgustingly tiny. Just like cyclists. It's the ones who have the genetics for calves who really stand out. And then the myth begins that high reps are the key to calves, yada yada.

There are many ways to build bigger calves, for different people. Certain principles still always apply.

lol, looking at my post above it sounded like i was attacking you. i didn't mean it to sound like that at all man, my bad. but i know some of them have tiny calves, but a good portion have above average or even amazing calves (i've never done any calve excersize in my life and my calves are above average for sure). Not the most effective way to build them though, it takes over 10 years, lol. Definantly better to go with heavier weights and lower reps, I completely agree with you there.

I was addressing Big-Andy's post, definately not Narc's ridiculous calves. I don't buy the idea that only genetically gifted individuals can't develop good(or at least better) calves.

that's actually razorburn - i have maybe 2 pimples on my entire body and face at any given time.

cut is still going steady. i am unsure of exactly when i'll have some update pics, bc i know that i shall not have replaced my stolen digital camera until after christmas. i am going to start tanning at the beginning of next week, and then maybe shortly after that i'll borrow someone's cam to take some update shots.
