Hey, while we're on the subject. Anyone know why HCG is so notorious for gyno? That doesn't make sense to me. Males have no way of producing estrogen directly. If it's just from aromatization... what's the big deal? That's easily dealt with.

"In males, administration of CG stimulates differentiation of, and androgen production by, the interstitial cells (Leydig cells) of the testes; the drug also causes differentiation and early maturation of the cells lining the seminiferous tubules (spermatogenic and Sertoli cells) of the testes."

The only way it can cause gyno is through aromatization... it won't produce estrogen directly as I've seen some argue before. (I don't think it was on this board.) Use some arimidex or clomid(nolvadex if need be) to control the gyno.

Suggested dosages vary widely. Near or at the end of a cycle, start at 500—1000 USP units 3 times weekly for 2-3 weeks. If needed follow that up by the same dose 2 times weekly for 3 weeks. (1USP unit = 1 IU) Lower dosages will cause less of a spike in test levels and offer less chance of gyno.

About 10—12% of a single dose is excreted in the urine within 24 hours; detectable amounts may continue to be excreted in urine for up to 3—4 days.

The short answer- high doses of HCG indirectly causes the body to produce aromatase.


500—1000 USP units 3 times weekly

This is actually the proper way to use HCG, Most people use far to much which is where the problems with gyno come from. One form of low Test occurs when the body is no longer able to produce LH in any signifigant amount. In such a case 500iu's of HCG every 2nd or 3rd day could completely restore normal T production by LH replacement from HCG.

also in large doses HCG is supressive to the HPTA axis and can prevent post cycle recovery. At 500iu/3rd day it is only slightly inhibitive so HCG could be run into the post cycle period to insure all steroid has left the system. I'd imagine clomid would be more effective and recovery quicker with the testicles at full working size as opposed to having them return to their normal size during the post cycle period.
