I am 25 years old, 6'3" tall, 175lbs, in pretty good shape but I want to put on about another 20 lbs of muscle. I lift about 4 times a week alternating different muscles. I have been taking protein for a while but it really doesn't seem to have much of an affect at all. I am looking for another product that will help me get some more muscle mass and keep me very ripped as well. Is there anything that increases your testosterone sorta like steroids but in a legal and healthy sense?

Thanks

An excess in calories may help you with putting on another 20lbs of muscle.

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no, no, no.

Excess calories, compound movements and plenty of rest are the ONLY things that are going to put on 20 lbs on muscle mass. Anything else is simply someone desperately looking for easy answers to a hard problem.

Creatine is one of the few supplements that does actually work in a meaningful way and as such it couldnt hurt to use it, but it alone will not make the difference between being 175 and 195. Sorry folks, there are no get rich quick schemes when it comes to bodybuilding.

Protein supplements are food in a bottle. You can easily get protein from chicken, beef, etc. You talk about it as if it is some sort of steroidal substance. It is powdered milk for lack of a better generalization. Protein supplements are meant to aid in boosting your protein amounts for the day if you need help in that department, or, in the case of whey protein, be taken pre/post workout.

If you are not seeing gains, there is a very simple explanation...you are not eating enough. Right now your problem is that you are looking towards supplementation as a primary way to gain mass. What you really need to do is research correct dieting and training methods. You don't seem to know anything about how to diet properly.

Lifting, good food, and time.

At your height and weight, you need to worry about those first.

I'm sort of a newbie at this myself.

So please don't quote me on this.

But I THINK, I just think..

that maybe you should consider taking....

Food.

It's nice to know the following two things:

1) Total Calories each day
2) Total protein each day

Once you actually know what you are ingesting you can adjust up and down until you see the results you desire.

Do you keep track of your daily calorie intake? If not, start right now. Once you knowyour maintenance level, you can then bump it up 300-500 calories a day until you find the level needed to add mass.

Thats pretty bad advice. PH's were banned for a reason. Work on your diet, first and foremost.

You're the one bitching about juice but now are recommending people use pro-hormones? Christ.

Do you even know what T3 is, or that PH's are banned and have been for some time?

I agree with slim schaedle, I looked for that magical supplement when it was sitting in my freezer all the time...chicken. or perhaps tuna, brown rice, beans, peanut butter, etc.

But, if your looking for supplements, try r-ALA post workout. Acetyl-L-carnitine is good for strength/endurance.

Food, rest, proper form, and taxing the muscles are the most important.
