I wanted to know if this product is for weight gain. I am 6'-0" @ 230 #. I am 43 years young and started working out again two weeks ago after a about a 5 year layoff. My mid section has grown quite a bit and I am trying to lose weight and bulk up. If I read the advertising for this product I should still be able to lose weight even though it is high in calories. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

I personally use it as a gainer or bulking type protein drink vs a weight loss or cutting kind of protein drink.
You might want to just go with ON's 100% whey.

I think you should get your taste buds tested.............
youre not going to lose weight around your midsection unless your net calories are at a deficit. so if you can drink muscle milk and keep your calories at a deficit, this is fine. however, if the high calorie aspect of this product places your [daily/weekly] net calories at a surplus, it will be making you work against your goals (losing weight).

Muscle Milk tastes great. I like the Cookies 'N Cream flavor. It's expensive though, which is why I've stopped buying it.
I dont like muscle milk its loaded with fructoseIt's also loaded with Splenda.

I personally don't think it's prudent to use muscle milk during a cut - you're going to have to drop calories, and something like muscle milk is going to take up a BIG chunk of calories you'd probably rather chew.
You can lose weight and get ripped to shreds eating high-calorie food - provided you maintain a caloric deficit. But if the food choices you make stimulate appetite, you won't be very comfortable.

32 grams of protein has about 128 calories. You're getting a LOT of tag-along calories from the fats for 32 grams of protein. Personally, I'd rather eat more peanut butter.
Ingredients:
Micellar Alpha and Beta Caseins and Caseinates, Whey Concentrates rich in Alpha-Lactalbumin, Whey Isolates, Whey Peptides, Purified Bovine Colostrum Extract rich in Secrotory IgA and IGF-1 (just use any protein powder and you'll get all this, or something damned similar, but a lot cheaper), Glutamine Peptides (waste of money), L-Taurine, Lactoferrin, Canola Oil (not a great thing to put into your body), Enzyme Engineered Polyunsaturated Long-Chain Vegetable Oils, MCTs (which occur naturally in coconut and to a lesser extent, regular dairy butter), L-Carnitine (expensive and completely useless unless you have a rare metabolic disorder), Fructose (eat fruit, it's better for you), Cocoa Powder, Maltodextrin (available for cheap at a U-brew, which is where I get mine), CYTOVITE I®, Vitamin and Mineral premix (great, a multivitamin  ) consisting of (Vitamin A Acetate, Cholecalciferol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Folate, Thiamine Monohydrate, Riboflavin, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine HCL, Cyanocobalamine, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Di-Calcium Phosphate, Potassium Iodide, Potassium Chloride, Ferrous Fumerate, Magnesium Oxide, Copper Gluconate, and Zinc Oxide), Creatine GCC, our proprietary, endogenous creatine precursor (Glycocyamine, Betaine), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Chromium Nicotinate (more wasted money).

If you mix it with milk it's nearly 700 calories.

ive had 7 bottles of the stuff (all different flavors). i like to use them for bulking. here is the flavors i have tried: creme brulee, cookies and cream, orange creme, mocha joe, rocky road, banana creme, stawberry banana
if you like bananas, banana creme is the greatest flavor IMO. a close second is then rocky road (tastes like chocolate with marshmallows :) mmm). next would probably be cookes and creme, mocha joe, creme brule, and then a tie for last with stawberry banana(thought i would like this better, but tastes like peptol bismol) and orange creme.
for x-mas, im asking for about 4 new bottles so i can taste all the flavors pretty much (except for a few i am pretty sure i wouldnt like).

Yep, for bulking, it's a great way to get in extra calories. But BigOldDad is on a cutter. Probably not a great idea under the circumstances, unless he's comfortable drinking calories that could have been chewed.

Built- doin more of the whey protein creatine drink, instead of the MM. I am having my sons buddy drink the MM he needs to bulk. I didnt get the dextrose yet but I live in a small town and they don't have any wine or beer making places. I will get to the big city soon and get some.

Near my house, the GNC (just happened to walk into it) has Muscle Milk for under 30 bills; on sale. I was able to buy 3 tubs for around 80 bucks and the guy gave me a free shaker. YMMV
I like to mix the 'Mocha Joe' in my coffee while I'm at work.

:ninja: :ninja: I can't say enough good things about this product. My personal experience with it has been nothing short of amazing.
It tastes great. I feel pumped on it, even before I was taking creatine. I have added a ton of muscle and leaned up quite a bit as well.
Sorry I am not as technical about stuff as many here, but I thought I would give a newbie's endorsement.

I'm just wondering.. ain't 8 grams of saturated fat for a 32g protein shake a little bit too extreme? I mean if mixed with skim milk that's like about 9-10g of saturated fat..
