It doesn't look very interesting. What's the story about anyway?
its based on an MTV cartoon from a decadish ago

It was a seriously disturbed and often times quite boring cartoon, at that.
If I went it would be just to satisfy the need for things to explode craving.

Charlize Theron in skin tight clothing isn't too bad either.

Well when I found out there was gonna be an Aeon Flux movie, I decided to check out the previews and credits, etc on IMDb. It took me a whopping like 2 seconds to figure out that the movie was going to be the exact kinda movie I didn't want to see. It will be Charlize's 'Catwoman'. To those loyal to the MTV cartoon, I'm sure this movie is only somewhat like the cartoon, especially considering the style used in the cartoon.
Charlize Theron doesn't look like she could hurt a fly (actually she injured herself doing a stunt and now has a 'no stunt' clause in your contracts) and some of the scenes in the previews (ESPECIALLY the part where she's shooting with one gun in front of her and blindly shooting with another gun in back of her) really look ridiculously over-stylized and even far-fetched (just like Blade: Trinity). Yeah Charlize is good looking but she is much to 'cute' for the role of Aeon Flux.
This movie will tank at the box office, and it looks like it's getting horrible reviews sooooooo save your money and don't go see it in theaters. If you want to watch a hot girl do acrobatics then rent some porn or something... it'll be a lot more satisfying.
Psssht... more like 'Aeon Sux' huhuhuhu.

I like anime as long as the lead is older than 10. God, I hate super large-eye hyperactive ninja kids... and they're far too common.
While there's not enough quality anime featuring adults as the actual protagonists (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Macross Zero are two excellent recent series without children as lead characters) certain series can pull having kids as the protagonists off (Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed were both great. Escaflowne was ok because it had giant robotic power armors. Hard, but not impossible, to go wrong with giant robots.).
Now, MTVs not-anime .. some of it I liked. I loved the Maxx and the Head, but those were both based off comics. I'm sure Aeon Flux was as well but I never really got into it.

Let's put it this way: Beavis & Butthead and Aeon Flux used to both play on MTV during the same time period... and Beavis & Butthead was a lot more entertaining IMO.

Much as I disliked Beavis and Butthead (I liked one of the spin offs, Daria, though) I would have to agree.

I saw one of the fight scenes that she Charlize showed on a TV show... it looked incredibly stupid.

I liked the disturbing qualities and sexual undertones in the cartoon. It was truly bizarre.
The hipbones and figures of the characters bothered me.
I'll still go see it.

Exactly.
Though once I saw pg-13 and saw that corny part with her dualwielding the gins on full-auto while spinning, well... that just flat-out killed it. I'll be saving my money for breakfast burrito's. :)
I remember that AF(original anime style AF) clip they had on teh intarrwebb like 2 years ago called WAR, which was an interesting compilation of all the main characters in AF taking eachother out. It reminded me of the food chain. Good stuff. :)

Just to correct this part, she wasn't shooting with the 2nd gun over her shoulder. She was just holding it over her shoulder. At least that's what I saw in the movie.

Try watching it when you're like 10. You crack up watching Beavis and Butthead and keep watching MTV and the next thing you know, you have ano chicks making out and killing people. What's even more weird is that it was often confusing to figure out if the characters of AF were male or female.
Shao-Lin: You may be right, but still she should try going with practicality for once. Stupid pudgey Aeon, tricks are for kids.

I don't claim to know what's practical, and I don't want to give big spoilers out, but she wasn't alone in that scene, so her spraying like that had it's purpose. In any event, I don't look towards movies for practicality anymore, I just wanna be entertained, hehe. The movie had its slow parts, but was entertaining during the action moments. Plus a half naked Charlize was nothing to complain about.

I loved Aeon Flux! That cartoon was wicked. However, the movie looks absolutely lame... I agree with you about Charlize Theron... I mean, please... This woman is a tall toothpick. I'm not 100% sure why men find her attractive. Well, I guess her face is very pretty, but that's not a womans body. That's a 10 year old boys body... I've just never been attracted to the tall boney and brittle look myself...
Besides, you can't do a movie about a cartoon like Aeon Flux. I mean, are you going to get the closeups of tongue kissing and tongues going into people's ears? I highly doubt it. I mean, that was the whole point of the cartoon. I pushed the line a bit with it's adult theme's. I kind of liked it... The animation was definitely wicked for it's time.

Yeah... sorry, still not convinced she's attractive. A girl has to have a figure for me. In other words, when she turns to the side, you can tell she's a woman. Curves! I'm not even talking about huge boobs either... I'm just sick of these no butt women. What happened to women wanting a J Lo butt?!
Actually, when I said her face was attractive in that last post, those photo's you just showed me made me think otherwise...

Guys:
Everyone has different tastes in what is attractive/not.
Get over it. You're obviously not going to convince each other (or anyone else) that your opinion is the "correct" one in this case.

Why does everyone on here always jump to taking things so seriously? I'm personally just having fun posting opinions and such as I'm sure most other people are as well. No one is trying to be "the correct one" here. Don't get your panties in a wad...
Look at Leno in the second picture: that used-car-salesman smile, hands together, the lame expression on his face. You can just tell he's thinking about banging her on that couch.

Aeon Flux was semi-cool when it had it's 5 minutes of fame on Liquid TV. I thought most of the other stuff on that show was cooler, though. Ah...that was back in the day when they had some semi-okay shows on MTV and played at least a little bit of music every once in a while.

Yeah intargc what's funny is that while you complain about her being too skinny, most Aeon Flux fans would say she is too pudgey for the role of Aeon Flux. Now this isn't supposed to be some thing where men are saying all women should be really skinny BUT if you look at the cartoon Aeon is ridiculously skinny. Charlize is nowhere close and has a face that looks nothing like Aeon's... Charlize has a pudgey face hahahha.
And intargc sometimes we take arguments seriously because we've had many-a-thread get out of control due to 'irreconcilable differences'.

Yes, Aeon in the cartoon was skinny... That wasn't my point. I was regarding people's obsession with her and the "Skin tight clothes" she's wearing as being attractive. Just voicing my opinion.
I can understand threads being taken out of control in politics, religion, etc... but for saying Charlize isn't attractive... Well, if you're getting upset about that, tone down the masterbating, join match.com and find a real girlfriend. :)

Paying to see this proves one thing - you should be exterminated.
I don't care if you're the biggest Theron fan, or the biggest Aeon Flux fan.
BTW, I can't remember too much about the show (other than the death gimmick)..
But isn't Aeon spelled with the A and E joined? As in the Old English writing method, which pronounced it as a long E? (Think of "Demon" and know that it was spelled "Daemon" and pronounced the same way..)
So why are many people calling it "AY-ON Flux"? Shouldn't it be "EE-ON Flux"?

Yes, that's how i've always heard it pronounced, save from 12-14y/o asshats hopping on the AF bandwagon (which has been empty, save for the fans of the original series).
