Here is an article about a protein that binds to myostatin (and evidently other muscle-limiting factors) and stops its effects. The results are pretty dramatic.

That looks really interesting, but I bet it will be a long time before it is ever used to treat humans. Even then, it will probably be like epogen in that athletes will use it but it will be hard to obtain and extremely expensive.
