Hey all, I read a bunch of threads on here in regards to creatine.
I was just about to purchase cell tech but after reading many threads im steering away from the purchase.

So I have a couple of questions.
I found Prolab Creatine Monohydrate on a site I purchased my protein off of for around $21 us, shipping is about $13 US and this is a 600 gram supply which I calculated to be approximately 4 mths which I plan on taking 5 grams daily on it. Still deciding if I should load or not, I probably will be loading for the first 5 days at around 20-25G.

Anyhow, what do you guys think about the above protein and it's cost?

Also, what dextrose brand do you recommend?

One last question, how much grams of dextrose should I mix with 5 grams of Creatine Monohydrate (couldn't find this answer anywhere on the forums)

thx guys

Dextrose is just sugar, so I don't think the brand matters. I use a protein scoop full of dextrose w/ 5g of creatine but some people make it more complex and base the amount off of their weight.

Regular table sugar isn't dextrose - it's sucrose.

Dextrose is sold cheap in u-brew stores.

thx everyone
I ordered my dextrose, creatine.

quick question I have though...

Do you think its better to take say 2.5 grams of creatine before workout and the other 2.5 after workout? Or can I just take the entire 5 after workout?
I know it takes like a week or so for creatine to enter the cells, etc but I read somewhere that it's good to take creatine before and after workout...what are your thoughts on this?

Also, is it ok to have a protein shake, creatine dosage/shake and then eat after workout? will I have any problems if I do this or do I have to split everything up accordingly? say one hr in b/w everything..

Also one more thing, is it necessary to take creatine 7 days a week?

thx

Sounds much simpler and time consuming, so i'll give it a try.

thx for the response.

I toss it into whey with dextrose, and sip it during my workout.

thx for the replies

Im starting the cycle today.

Just want to clarify one more thing. Is taking 5 grams of dextrose ok with 5 grams of creatine mono? So basically gram for gram with creatine and dextrose. Or should I take a bigger dosage of dextrose?

Also for the loading, is it bad to have the entire 20-25 grams in one shake (for example in a protein shake) post workout?

thx again

hahaha, wha?

People are suggesting to you 50 grams or so of dextrose.

And no loading of creatine is needed. just do the 5 grams and thats it.

I personally try cutting it in half, 2.5 grams pre work out, 2.5 grams after work out, and have the dex and maltodex in my post workout shake.

I'd like to check one thing. I live in a place with no u-brew stores [home brewing is illegal here] and no supermarkets, international or otherwise that carry dextrose, and internationally shipping a cheap, heavy item is not worth the price. But grape sugar according to this dictionary entry is dextrose...or glucose. Is that right? I'm guessing it's either just a case of the Japanese deciding to call dextrose "grape sugar" or the translation is wrong, as according to nutritiondata, a grape's sugar is not 100% glucose but contains a lot of fructose. But by calling it "grape sugar" it could mean they've isolated the glucose from the fructose. For example, in Japanese gatorade powder, the ingredients are sugar [sucrose] and grape sugar [as well as salt, etc.], so if grape sugar were the same as sucrose they wouldn't bother listing them seperately. I'm confused. For now I use powerade [powder] I bought when I was in the states but I'm worried about what to do when it runs out.

I'm pretty sure grape sugar is just another name for dextrose.

I did load on creatine a while back but now I see it's not necessary.

However if you load you see results quicker than if you don't but you end up at the same point eventually. But the downside of loading is that you use your creatine quicker.

1kg creatine should last 6 months at 5g a day.

I now take 5g a day whenever I remember, but usually about 1hr before a workout.
