hey Steve, good to have you here. How much do you weigh? how many total cals daily are you getting? just from looking, protein is adequate, carbs are pretty high and not enough fats. also, im not seeing where your getting your fats from?

hey what's yup guys, yes i get my greens from the mini salad i eat with the chicken patty and my grandma's cooking...i am currently bulking at 190 pounds..my daily calories are 2090 and on workout days my fat intake reaches 100g fat (good quality fats) and calories are 2940. My daily calories sounds like a cutting diet and i may need to tweak it. On a different forum i was told when bulking the only thing changing is the carbs. So i raised it from 200 to 330.

If your trying to bulk, you need ALOT more calories. Also more healthy fats.

this sounds like a total newbie question but is it possible, while taking in lots of quality good fats, to mantain waist size a bit while losing the love handles? I came out of cutting a month ago and i gained good definition lowered bodyfat and all. I guess im trying to ask, does your body continue to adjust the waist evenly proportioned while bulking?

typo..i meant im getting 2445 calories a day

12-27-2005, 03:39 PM
No. If your adding LBM to areas not on your waste, then you can maintain or see little gains in the waist area and get bigger overall. 2445 is not nearly enough calories unless you have a wierd metabolism. Also, eating fat doesn't make you fat. Higher fat will help with all sorts of body functions including production of hormones.

And what's our favorite hormone?

That's right, testosterone! Healthy fats help make you huge :)

you need consistency in your caloric intake for a bulking cycle man. The body HAS to know that EXTRA calories are coming EVERYDAY.

Just watch your progress, and if the fat is coming too quick, drop 100calories a day, watch progress, tweak as necessary.

Until you really try to bulk, and really try to cut down, you don't really know what your body is capable of.

Just go for 3500kcal a day.

Your protein and carbs are fine so just add healthy fats.

Peanut butter and olive oil are your friends! :D
