You look good for 6 months of lifting. What are your goals? You have a great base, and with the right nutrition and continued training you'll look great in a few more years.

d'Anconia
12-28-2005, 03:59 PM
You definitely look ripped, that's for sure. I personally think you could actually use a bit more size in general, even if that means some more fat, since you only weigh 145.

Natetaco
12-28-2005, 04:00 PM
as for strength goals? well my goal on bench right now is 200 but i hit 195 10 days ago and that was after i did curling, even though not same muscles, i think it took some energy outa me. but 225(a stack) is my bench goal, 300 is my squat goal which is a little over twice my body weight, want to get that by the end of april. i dont do deadlifts that much but i powerclean and my goal on that is 185, im at 175. not many really goals, just lifting to look better and to help for wrestling and anything else that comes up....

the last day of school im going to max out on bench and squat, for bench i want 250 at least and squat 315.

When are you gonna start eating?

Natetaco
12-28-2005, 06:13 PM
whats that supposed to mean

Bob
12-28-2005, 06:19 PM
It's wrestling season now.. so you are probably staying @ 145 for now, right?
Otherwise, I think the folks that are answering on your thread want you to gain some weight...

It really does depend on your long term goals? Do you want to stay around 145 for a wrestling career? If so, you don't need to add any muscle, because 6% is pretty lean for a teenager...

Otherwise, if you want to get bigger muscles.. you gotta eat...
That's why they call this the WBB forum... LOL

Good luck with your progress.. which is great for 6 months...
And good luck with your wrestling season...

Natetaco
12-28-2005, 07:35 PM
yeah, thanks a lot man. Yeah i gota stay under 145 until season is over in about a month, after than its bulk time. Im going to try to bump up to 160 for next season, and keep my bodyfat as low as i can because well.. i want to look ripped. Im really just trying to get stronger without gaining TOO much weight.

Wait till the season is over and then eat some food, buddy.

If he was 200lbs and 6% no one would say that. He weighs 145lbs. The name of the site is Wanna Be Big, not "Emaciate Yourself to look like an Abercrombie Model".

d'Anconia
12-28-2005, 09:06 PM
Well I think 160lbs with 6% bodyfat is an easy goal to accomplish in 9 or so months (from end of season to new beginning of season). I doubt you'll have any problem gaining that much and getting back to 6%.

I feel sorry for you, Natetaco -- genetic determinism has decided your fate for you. Fortunately for the rest of the human population, increasing calories does indeed lead to weight gain.

So you lost 15lbs of fat and gained 15lbs of muscle? Impressive. How did you know that you had lost/gained that particular ratio?

If you want tips, don't say something like "im just genetically around 145", which is complete and utter bull****. You're not genetically around any particular weight.

-TIM-

Easy fellas.

If you're wrestling and need to stay at 145 lbs, then good, stick there. You look nice and lean with a good shape right now. If you want to gain weight in the off season, then increase your calorie intake.

I too am curious to see what the legs look like. If you're doing squats regularly, then I imagine they should look about the same.

People looked at the pictures and said 'you look really defined, good job. If you ate more and gained weight, you'd look awesome.'

You said 'it's hard to gain weight, you just don't understand.'

They said 'it's not hard to gain weight - eat.'

You said 'why are you picking on me?'

They said 'we're not picking on you - eat.'

You said 'guess you guys are just jealous of my super-sexy runway model physique; nobody else hear can touch my leanness, and so I get flamed.'

They said 'STOP WHINING AND EAT!'

Well I think 160lbs with 6% bodyfat is an easy goal to accomplish in 9 or so months (from end of season to new beginning of season). I doubt you'll have any problem gaining that much and getting back to 6%.

Read those last two quotes really hard, buddy. They sound to me like two people who fully realize what his goals are, and stand behind him on those. Immediately following, we get this response:

im just genetically around 145, people keep saying "eat something" its like well no **** im eating.

To which the response was:

I have a challenge for you. Go to www.fitday.com, log your food intake, be 100% honest, and get in 3500+ cals, EVERY day.

Seems very simple to me; after page one, everything starts degrading, but that's to be expected. The only really valuable conversation happens when people know what's going on. Anyway, the simple fact of the matter is that two of the people accused of 'flaming' told Mr. Taco flat-out: wait till the end of the season, then start eating to gain weight. After Mr. Taco whined about the fact that he was eating, and still wasn't gaining weight, then the smartasses started in. Until that point, everything was copacetic.

Up the dosage.

Anyway, since I'm in this thread, I might as well say to you, Nate: good job on the progress. I'd kill to be that lean (as my screenname suggests). The simple fact of the matter is that, while you will go back and forth with people on whether you're eating 'enough', use FitDay. After logging your honest calories for 6+ months, you can point at that and say, 'look, I consume 3000+ calories a day, and it's tough for me to eat more than that.' At least the people around here will respect that. Good luck on building your body for next season.

There are plenty of wrestling sites the kid could have posted his pics on. If you are not interested in looking like a bodybuilder, go find another forum to share your pics with. There is no challenge in being 145 lbs @ 6% bf and posting countless ab/bicep shops, everyone here has seen enough of that. Posting a thread about your "cuts" when you are 145 lbs is asking to get flamed. Congratulations, you are an ectomorph, now start eating or find another forum to brag on.

Personally, I wasn't even as bothered by the OP as I was by Revesta. I certainly don't think there's anything wrong with waiting till the season is over -- which is exactly what I stated. I did rag on the OP for stating that he's "genetically around 145lbs". I'd rag on him again for that, too. Do I care what weight anyone else is? Not really. Am I going to give someone a hard time who posts six bicep shots and says that they're genetically around 145lbs? Yeah, probably.

Im not hear to post pictures because i wrestle eather, that was just the reason for me staying at the weight im at now... And i didnt start a thread to show off my "cuts" i just wanted to see what people thought of my progress after 6 months of lifting. and i never bragged about it what i looked like eather.

Why are some of you ragging on the guy?

He wants to keep this weight... he's happy at 145, and he looks a BIG 145 at that! I'd hardly call him emeciated. He wants to keep that weight with low BF for wrestling.. do you guys even read the posts?

K well I'm not sure exactly how Revsta started up **** since he only posted twice on this thread but... it looks like this thread is simmering down.

I think we're starting to see tension on this site because on one hand the site is about bodybuilding, bulking, cutting, powerlifting, fitness, and nutrition and perhaps should welcome anyone who genuinely wants to work on any one of those things onto the site. On the other hand, yes, the site is named Wanna Be Big but I'm not positive that means that people who don't 'Wanna Be Big' aren't welcome.

Yeah I always thought wannabebig was just a catchy title. This place is very helpful for any goal related to losing or gaining muscle or fat, and goals related to strength and fitness.
If you join T-Nation, do you have to be interested in Testosterone or Nations? Not necessarily.
Flaming can be fun, so don't take these posts too seriously.

A couple of things.

First, I think you have a great base to build on. I understand you are competing in wrestling and need to maintain weight. There's nothing wrong with that. IF you want to gain weight when you are off season, you definitely have the frame to hold more weight AND stay lean.

Second, I don't know what the hell the problem is. The guy posts pics and gets flamed because he's not as big as YOU want to be? Yeah, the site's name is WBB, but guess what ... it's changing.

I'm closing this thread with a great big warning for everyone who feels the need to flame someone for posting pics. There is absolute NO need for it.
